Nothing no ones making me eat something weird.

When I was in Southeast Asia, I ate a lot of strange foods. I didn’t know what it was, and I didn’t ask, all I knew was most of the time it tasted good. Here in the US, the weirdest thing I ate that I liked is escargot. I liked it so much that I went out and bought some escargot snails and made up a big batch. I took them to my sister’s when she was hosting Christmas dinner, and they were a big hit. Everybody liked them, even my mother, who said eww when I told her what they were, but after she tied one, she loved it.

I liked escargot but never made them myself. Just got them at haute cuisine places (in my more posh days). Also annoyed friends at a szechuan restaurant if I ordered their chicken gizzard stir fry which was quite tasty.

Blue cheese and mountain oyster

Oysters don’t grow in the mountains…we all know what you are talking about🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. my condolences.

Must have been Rocky Mountain Oysters.

Was 18 yrs. old and tried raw oyster once at restaurant I worked at, … it was too weird for me.

Frog Legs – Yum
Jackrabbit – Meh… stewed it forever & still kinda tough
Dove – Good, but it takes a couple to make a meal.

Frogs legs. Probably not weird to some but for me they were. They tasted good, kind of like chicken. However, not good enough to order twice. I prefer steak and/or seafood.

I tried frog legs once. To me, they tasted like fishy chicken, and I also have no desire to order
them again.

BBQ’ed Frog Legs, … Once and it was Tasty.

I had them as a teen, restaurant had them, so me and a friend gave them a try. I do not recall if they tasted like anything, but I do not recall thinking that I’d never eat them again. Now, I would not want to pay the amount of money they want for them.

Since you didn’t specify “food”, I’ll go with the ten dollar bill I ate when I was six. I’m somewhat of a legend (the idiot kind) in my family due to this regrettable incident. It was never seen again.

Not too many people know exactly how much they’re worth. 😝

Pickled eel.

Reading the earlier posts, I have tried/eaten (intentionally) most of the items listed by everyone, the exception being mountain oysters and the $10 bill, and I will not try either. Raw prawn is close to the same as live, since it is not fighting, so I will count it. I guess the weirdest I would state is the wild boar I had in Berlin (east side, a few years after the wall fell), not weird because of what it was, but weird in its texture (really grainy to the point of unpleasant).

OK, I read Atticus’ post and it reminded me I tried sea urchin. That was weird, in look and in texture, and I do not recall the taste making me want to try again (but I probably would).

I just remembered one from years ago, Milkbone Dog Biscuit …… I was curious.

I think I remember that story. Something about getting run over by a car?

A whole dried and salted squid while stationed in Korea.

Bought from a street vendor while stuck in a god awful traffic jam. This thing had a body that was about a foot long with tentacles that were about the same. Had the consistency of jerky with the taste of the sea. Good enough to eat, but not good enough to try again.

A pecan roll from Stuckey’s.
