Is blast & brew ever opening in todos santos? Its been coming soon for what a year now?

I know what Brew is, but what is Blast?
Best I could come up with is bacon, lettuce, avocado on sourdough toast.

With a side of fries and another beer. Now i want a sandwich.

Ed’s Mudville has a BLAST and it’s bacon, lettuce, avocado, swiss, and tomato.

Ive never been to ed’s. They sound really good. I never go near clayton though.

You could get yourself a brew and a BLAST at Ed’s, and I’ll bet you’d enjoy both very much. And I’m not even going to ask why you never go near Clayton; I’m just going to recommend that you do.

Joke

Why did the golfer wear two pairs of pants?
Just in case he got a hole in one!

Oh boy! I have a new joke too….
*
A PG&E executive was driving a consumer advocate with him to a meeting when all of a sudden the PG&E man slams on the brakes.
There was a sheep with her head stuck in the fence and the PG&E man says “Us PG&E guys never pass up an opportunity like this!”
And he gets out and has his way with the sheep.
Then he says to the consumer advocate “OK, Your turn”…
So the consumer advocate gets out and runs up next to the sheep, bends over and sticks his head in the fence.

The past topic of the weirdest thing you ever ate was interesting, and it made me take a mental inventory of the unusual, not weird, just not considered normal, fare I have had. Curious what others have had as well… One man’s unusual is another man’s regular dinner…. I have had abalone, alligator, bear, bison, boar, conch, deer (venison) eel, escargot, frog legs, goat, rabbit, reindeer, squab, turtle, urchin. Things I am looking to try (just to say I tried it): camel, elk, snake and I am sure more…

Jeff ~
Our Daughter did an outback trip to Australia back in 2004.
There she ate Camel, Crocodile, Snake, Emu, and Kangaroo, … roo being the best.
While she lived in Akasaka, she served us Bear/Moose Chili, … a bit chewy.
My Brother-in-Law once made Elk Salami, … YUM!
Frog Legs, Emu, and Venison, … once was enough.
If cooked right, we do like bison, duck, goat, and rabbit.
Would like to try Boar one day.

Oh, … tried Shark once … pass on it.

… did too – kind of like swordfish but tougher

I worked in the fish department of our local grocery store while in high school, and we would serve shark, swordfish, monkfish, and a multitude of other seafood as samples. I quite enjoyed shark (I believe it was mako) and grilled it up often.

Poached venison.
No, I’m not referring to the style of cooking, but to the style of obtaining.

Lol.

I tried baby octopus once, they were bite size, and eaten whole. Nasty tasting little things,
and they chew like rubber.

Second topic. I was waiting to turn left from Westbound Treat, to go to the John Muir center, during what pre-chinese bat fever, government shutdown, would have been rush hour (8 AM). The amount of traffic was heavy. Eastbound was sparse. The left turn arrow was green for literally 3 seconds. The we sat there for 2+ minutes at each red, with cars also turning left blocking one of 3 lanes (not safe) while there was not a single car, not one, headed east. Why can’t the traffic department make it so people can turn left, which would facilitate traffic all the way around there. It is not like only a couple people go to John Muir, the lot is full at 7:00. OK, my crabbing is done…

Listen to some great music while you’re driving and it will relax you. I go with 70s rock and Motown…

….been there.. instead of tiurning left there – going westbound, go up one signal and make a u turn – that signal is much more driver friendly… and the other entrance to John Muir is immediately on your right

I used to turn right into shopping center with safeway.
Turn left out onto Denkinger and sail across Clayton onto Treat.

Good spots to photograph local rattlers? I was thinking Old Borges Ranch, Mitchell Canyon. Joined iNaturalist and would like to send in photos. A long time ago it seems like a “Mt. Diablo” rattler was listed in our area. Now they’re northern Pacific rattlers. Thanks for any ideas.

Try the Clayton Community park, they are spotted up there pretty often (all the way up the hill & to the area just beyond the back of the park).
A “Mt. Diablo Rattler” was probably just someone’s description of a Northern Pacific Rattlesnake seen on Mt. Diablo.
