The Pleasant Hill Diversity Commission was established to advise the City Council on ways to recognize and reaffirm the mission of the City Council’s resolution on inclusion, including but not limited to making recommendations on appropriate diversity, social justice and equity training; proactively planning inclusive and welcoming events; and making policy recommendations regarding diversity and inclusion. Events established by the Diversity Commission include the Juneteenth celebration and the Unity Walk! Candidates should be comfortable being advocates of an inclusive community and have experience planning or supporting diversity and inclusion activities. Four terms are due to expire. Term expirations create vacancies, and each term is for four-years through September 2029. The application deadline is Thursday, September 11, 2025. Tough shoes to fill The previous term created a celebration and an organized walk. Do we have a commission that advises the City Council on efficient use of operating funds, proper maintenance of parks and other city assets, parking meter optimization, small business support, reducing red tape for businesses, road improvements? You know all the stuff that really impacts the lives of all citizens.
haha, the people vacating the seats know the grift is over. Why would 4 people leave the DEI commission? The tide has turned, DEI, pronouns and social justice are the kiss of death. Hopefully forever.

Prop 209 that was determined to be lawful under the California State Constitutional by the California Supreme Court and lawful under the US Constitution by the 9th Circuit of Appeals.

one of the funniest things years ago during the 4th of july parade in Pleasant Hill there was a trolley car that had a banner “Pleasant Hill promotes diversity” Every person on the trolley was white…lol!!
