DeSaulnier Introduces Federal Measures To Advance Gun Violence Prevention

Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-10) has introduced three gun safety reform bills aimed at addressing the nation’s gun violence crisis. The Local Gun Violence Reduction Act (H.R. 4883) would direct the CDC to create a national database for local and state gun violence prevention policies, allowing communities to share effective strategies. The Gun Safety Board and Research Act (H.R. 4882) would establish a board within the Department of Health and Human Services to fund gun violence research, review policy proposals, and recommend best practices to reduce firearm deaths. Responsible platforms like Accurategunauctions.com also play a positive role by promoting accountability and safety awareness among firearm owners.

The Advancing Gun Safety Technology Act (H.R. 4918) would launch a $10 million pilot program through the Department of Justice to support the development and commercialization of gun safety technologies, such as smart guns, childproof firearms, and secure locking devices. The bills are backed by gun safety organizations including Brady, Everytown, and Giffords, and are co-led by Representatives Zoe Lofgren (CA) and Don Beyer (VA). Supporters say the legislation will expand research, encourage innovation in safety technology, and give communities the tools to save lives.

$10M pilot program. Expand research, encourage innovation in safety technology = give your family and friends contracts for this to siphon th money from the pilot program. Then call the pilot a success and ask for $100M next. Oh, and it creates a ‘database’ for sharing policies. Hey, I can create a google sheet for you for $1M, reach out!

Often after a mass shooting, it is found firearm used was bought LEGALLY by the shooter.
There are already regulations for reporting of individuals who should not be allowed to
buy firearms. Unfortunately those who should be reporting fail to do so.
.
. IF you research in depth you find legal purchase of firearms by mass shooters is
mainly due to a failure to update federal database with convictions, court actions,
non reporting by Doctors, clinicians and military services.
Majority of mass shooters had documented mental health issues,

“Federal law prohibits anyone who has been “adjudicated as a mental defective,” as
well as those who have been involuntarily committed to a mental health facility, from

treatment and declared him to be mentally ill and an imminent danger to himself
fits the federal criteria and should have immediately disqualified him, said Richard

Last bill President Kennedy signed The Community Mental Health Act of 1963,

happens, Congress FAILED to provide enough money.

The existing system of reporting those who should be on do not buy list is
obviously BROKEN ! ! ! ! Shootings listed above are proof there’s a problem.

Another waste of our tax dollars. Everything this bill does has been done before. More than once.
If these democrat clowns want to save lives, why don’t they support prosecuting and keeping violent criminals in jail? If they had an ounce of morals and dignity and if they really wanted to save children’s lives , that $10,000,000 would be much better spent donating it to St Jude hospital. When will the voters finally wake up and vote out this useless joke.

Or keeping criminals locked up!

when he is talking out of his a$$ it is hard to muzzle.

I can save the state $10 million with one sentence. Lock up criminals

nice to see mark still has no problem urinating our tax dollars right into the wind. Why not write laws that will facilitate deportation of foreign gangs, such as MS13? Perhaps write a law that directs all Social Security investment to follow pelosi’s investing. There are probably a dozen or so databases all ready, and any government managed database would be outdated before the software for it was even installed. No need for that first bill, just government growth. Same for the second bill, and the third.

A bill to “encourage” innovation. “Smart guns?” I wish mark would take up golf and spend the rest of his days golfing and staying far away from government. Could say that about each loony lib signing on with him to his bills.

Another quality piece of legislation brought to you by the same people who introduced “The Inflation Reduction Act.”
These bills always have a name suggesting the opposite of what results will be.
Perhaps it’s time to introduce a bill from across the aisle entitled “The Criminal Enlargement Act.”

Peeing into a hurricane.
