you’re just scared that the GOP has finally decided to play by your rules of the game. Live by the sword, die by the sword. The Dems have FA, and now it’s time to FO.
Your “commitment to be fair and respectful” is sadly lacking. If you really held those traits you would have been complaining and writing these emotional letters about the gerrymandering that was already in place when you took office, the gerrymandering that specifically silences conservatives in CA. I hope you’re proud of the dumpster fire you and your ilk have turned our once beautiful state into.

The map is insane.
You claim other states are “pursuing power for power’s sake rather than pursuing policies that Americans need and want”? …….. Look in the mirror.
You people disgust me.
Senate District 4 goes from Lake Tahoe down to the Trona Pinnacles on the border of San Bernardino Co. Somebody please tell me, politically, what the people in Tahoe, and the So Cal Desert dwellers have in common. The most blatant district abuse though, is putting the ENTIRE coastline from San Francisco to Crescent City in one district.
@ No Excuses – Exactly right! No reason or sense of order other than to maximize the numbers of Democrat voters in each district no matter how abstract.

O yeah, another Democratic leader trying to spin the OBVIOUS gerrymandering being attempted by Dictator Newscum. That Dictator flat out said that he was going to change the districts to get rid of the Republican vote in California. If this passes, and I am worried it has ‘already’ passed, it is the death of the Republican party in California. This is despite ~40% of this state voting for Trump and identifying as a Republican, they will have no voting power in this state.
It is beyond despicable what they are attempting in California.
But o Texas, … umm they are doing it legally! The Texas constitution allows for it. The California constitution does not allow it. Dictator Newscum is attempting to modify the state constitution to meet their needs. This fits well within the history of our Dictator in charge. He violated state law when he performed the first same sex marriage in San Francisco because HE did not believe the law was right. He overruled the state population vote by removing the death penalty off the table. He decided to make San Francisco and now California a sanctuary state which does not support (actively fights) FEDERAL law. The short version, our Dictator in charge does not believe any law can tell him what to do and he does what he wants. And he has the audacity to call out Trump for these same behaviors.
So Senator Grayson, if you want to speak out against something, you best be looking in the mirror when you talk. Everything you say is what the Democratic party is doing in this once great state. If you are being honest, you would be speaking out against the democratic party as they are the ones being UNdemocratic.
2 points: first, is nuisance going to contain his zeal in making democrat districts, or will this result in an obscenity of one Republican district remaining, eliminating the other 4, while adding double digit extra districts, making the current 48 dem districts into 60+ so there will be 60 dem v 1 Rep districts? The state has already been set up so that there is only 9% of districts with republican House Representatives. nuisanace is truly a horrible human.
Second, under the democrat rule of this state, another retailer has gone so far as to state it will not open a single store within this state. and nuisance wants to be president? God help us!

True district representation is allocated by the number of citizens, not their political affiliation.
Anything else should be unconstitutional.
And illegals should not be included in the census counts that determine the number of congressional districts in each state.

Since 2012 and Proposition 11 CA congressional districts are drawn by a 14-member Citizens Commission. The 14-member Commission for 2020 is made up of five Republicans, five Democrats, and four members who are not affiliated with either party.
But Republicans have no problem with what Texas is doing to change the current balance of congressional majority.
This is an appropriate response to what Texas is doing.
Texas is following Texan law. State Democrats in the California legislature are trying to change a California law the VOTERS instituted.
These two items are not the same.
This isn’t Texas.
California needs to mind it’s own business (which it is doing an awful job of BTW).
How many voters will be disenfranchised by Newsom’s redistricting rat f##k game, winding up with a congressman who was never even on the ballot in their district?
The price of Newsom’s cheating will be paid by the people of California.
I don’t know if what is happening in Texas is political cheating or a justifiable correction of the corrupt gerrymandering they already had, but I do know it is none of California’s business.

Wouldn’t usually support this but Trump is trying to expand executive power, including military occupation of cities. Trump has shown he is willing to switch his actions from policy driven to politically driven. For example, his justification for tariffs started out as economic policy but quickly bled over into bullying other countries by threatening tariffs because he didn’t like a political stance. He threatened 50% tariffs on Brazil if it didn’t halt the trial of Bolsonaro; threatened Columbia with tariffs if it refused to accept US deportees; threatened 35% tariffs on Canada if it recognized a Palestinian state; and threatened tariffs on Mexico and China (as if China cares) over claims of illegal drugs. Military occupation of cities is currently justified by claims of reducing crimes, but how long before that turns politically on citizens, too? And if he can do it, then it sets precedent for future presidents to do it back.
No hopes here that Democrats will try to help the average person, they never have and they never will. But if Texas is going to gerrymander at Trump’s request, then there is no reason California shouldn’t try to keep balance of power.
By the way, Republicans in Texas don’t have clean hands in this gerrymandering. TX Governor tied voting on gerrymandering to votes on funding to help the flood victims – 138 dead and millions in damages. How low can you get? That is not America First.
Look – Trump has already started targeting citizens for speech he doesn’t like using his military occupation of DC. Completely unacceptable, unconstitutional, and anti-American. https://x.com/MaxBlumenthal/status/1958948026573062549
Hope… so now you’re pro crime?
Since the Federal Government took control of the DC Police Dept. they have made
719 arrests, 91 illegal guns confiscated, carjackings down 83% and robbery down by 46% and have gone an entire week without a homicide (yes, that is a record for DC).
Chicago is next on the list.
