The Concord Police Department will be conducting DUI patrols on August 21, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Officers will be looking for drivers suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Police emphasized that impaired driving is preventable and reminded the public that it isn’t limited to alcohol use. Certain prescription and over-the-counter medications can also interfere with safe driving, and both medicinal and recreational marijuana use can lead to illegal impairment behind the wheel. Drivers arrested for DUI face steep consequences, including an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties along with a suspended license for a first offense. The program is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Should be 50k in fines and 5 years of jail. Driving impaired is ridiculous. No excuse.
Why not bump it up a day or two so it’s on a Friday or Saturday night?
It makes too much sense, I guess???
