Every Saturday in September, Concord residents are invited to roll up their sleeves and help plant trees alongside Mayor Carlyn Obringer and members of the City Council. The community projects will take place in parks across the city as part of Concord’s effort to preserve its long-standing recognition as a “Tree City USA,” a designation awarded by the Arbor Day Foundation for strong urban forestry programs. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to participate, and the City is encouraging residents to sign up in advance.
To volunteer, please sign up at www.cityofconcord.org/Septembervolunteer.

I think it’s a great idea to plant trees in parks.
It’s good to get out and get sun.
It’s beneficial to collaborate with neighbors to enhance the community.
Too bad a politician is in the mix.
BTW, Concord pays Tree City a great deal of money. Tree City ships Concord some little signs.
The politicians of the City Council clap one another on the back and tell us how great they are.
I’m sending my daughter just so she can spend this lovely time with our lovely mayor it’s priceless.
If I still lived there, I’d go help. 🫡
Other than a photo op – will the mayor actually plant a tree?
How do people keep falling for hollow gestures like this? How does this help the homeless issue, how does this solve the infrastructure issue, how does this solve the out of control cost of living? How does this remove the slap in the face that brand new low income state of the art high rise condos with 4 bedrooms but you have to make less than 24K to qualify to live in? It doesn’t even remotely come close but you can come plant trees…WTF
Yeah that should make everything all better…
