The City of Concord is making it official: the left turn lane from Clayton Road onto Cape Cod is being permanently removed. For the past year, the lane has been blocked off with cones, but now the city is extending the center median to ensure the turn can no longer be made. Drivers can still turn left from Cape Cod onto Clayton Road, but the reverse is no longer allowed. The change was made due to the high number of traffic collisions in the area, including multiple crashes into the home on the corner.

Well now maybe people will abstain from inviting themselves into those folks living room.
Oh wow this is interesting. I was wondering when the city would block this turn in lane. This should help the poor house on the corner.
LONG OVERDUE.
House on left side of photo has had cars plow into it every few years.
This last go round the wall was put in.
Here’s a crazy idea. Spend money fixing the roads that we already have. As a frequent traveler of this great country, both city and countryside, I’ll tell you I have not seen worse roads anywhere in our nation. Doesn’t mean they are not out there, I just have yet to find them. Who is in charge of our road repairs and maintenance? I think it’s long overdue to replace them with someone competent.
Hyperbole. Or you aren’t a serious traveler. Concord has the worst roads in the nation? Please.
Concord’s roads are legitimately bad and the city council is planning to let them get slowly get worse because they refuse to control costs.
Unless I am wrong (and I might be), our gas taxes that are supposed to go towards road mtc. etc. are actually merged into the general fund. Meaning even though we’ve had gas tax increases over the years the increased funds are not really held separate for just repairs.
Those pay for cocaine and hair gel nothing more. “hear me Gavin?”
And the nation breathes a sigh of relief. 😅
Left turns from Clayton Road onto Cape Cod has been blocked for about five years using plastic bollards. Cars have crashed into the house on the corner more recently than that.

I’m glad that Concord is starting to try to take traffic safety more seriously.
Still won’t prevent terrible self-absorbed drivers!
