Cowellian’s first.
We finally got some rain.

Funny you mention rain, on one of my morning walks it started sprinkling for a few minutes it was really weird.
this was earlier in the week.

We went several weeks without rain, and everyone’s lawns had all turned brown. During the past week, we had several times when we had wind, thunder, and lightning, but no rain. But after last night’s storm, the lawn has a fresh twinge of green to it.

Hopefully this means we get plenty of rain this winter.

Here, this morning the tic-tac-toe crew were up spraying their fake clouds again. I wish they’d please leave the weather alone. They do more damage than good. And as for blocking UV it’s probably cheaper to give everyone free suntan lotion.

Who wants to guess when the next bart meltdown will be? Maybe on a Monday? That would really be bad.

Been a few years since I’ve had a full physical exam. Had one last week and the doctor was pretty comprehensive in the work up. Was asked to give several specimen samples including blood, urine, fecal, and the one that surprised me, a semen sample. Gave me a specimen bottle to take home to collect that last one and bring it back next day.

I went home, got some privacy and set the mood, tried my best but no go. Asked the wife to help and she tried left hand, right hand, even mouth, but nope, won’t budge. Got pretty frustrating.

Her sister and family came over for dinner that evening and somehow my predicament came up in conversation. I could’ve died of embarrassment right there and then. Her sister offered to give it a try.
I thought “what the @#$???!!” Somehow they talked me into letting her try. In utter shock and embarrasment as she rolled up her sleeve and went at it… but still nothing.

Then the sister thought maybe it takes a man’s touch and asked her husband to give it a try. I’m thinking, “oh lord please take me right now.” But I thought what heck, I haven’t a shred a dignity left so I let them talk me into it. Her hubby is about 6’4” and 230 lbs. Was an athlete in high school and stayed in good shape all these years. He went at it with more vigor and enthusiasm than I think was necessary. But still nothing.

Just then their 14 year old daughter walked by and asked what’s going on. And of course, they explained the situation to her!! I mean why not. At this point it is beyond surreal. She offered to give it go and they all agreed it was worth a try. She looked over the situation and then grabbed it with firm grip. Gave it a couple of whacks against a hard surface and the specimen collection bottle lid finally came off.

Idea to make YVR safer where the Concord teeneager was killed in the headon accident recently east of Oak Grove…. there’s a span of YVR between where there are trees in the median and the area where there’s a drainage ditch in the center between east and westbound lanes where it is just a plain curbed median where vehicles can (and do) cross over and hit traffic head-on…. how about putting those cement barriers in the middle so vehicles can’t cross over? … like there is further up the hill on the Concord side… think it might save a life or other serious injuries.

Speed limit is a factor.
Speed limits each direction on that stretch of Ygnacio were raised to 55 mph.
Higher the speed greater the chance of a fatal incident.
.
Travel distance per second at speed,
perception of danger,
reaction time,
incidence distance traveled.
.
plug 55 into calculator
https://tinyurl.com/2pt335hm
.
55 mph = 81 feet per second traveled.
Looking over, picking up a water bottle takes, say 5 seconds,
81 * 5 = 405 feet traveled in 5 seconds.

.
Suspect eastbound ygnacio after Oakgrove was raised to 55 to prevent traffic backups
caused when three eastbound become two.
Congestion versus lives . . . . . . .

Most interesting – I was doing yard-work and heard what sounded like an old plane flying overhead. I looked up and saw red stars under the wings. Maybe Russian – I ran inside and logged onto FlightRadar24. It wasn’t Russian – it was a Chinese trainer. Here’s a link:

Okay Mayor, before I hit submit on my next order
Will I have the power to arrest and serve warrants

People who don’t use their turn signals are most likely the same people who pee on the toilet seat in airport restrooms: They just don’t give a hang about others.

Muck the Fets.
I had hope when we swept the
filthy Phillies a couple of weekends ago
But now I hope the Giants steal the
wildcard from them. Serve ‘em right, bastids.
