Concord Issues Request For Proposals For Rehabilitation And Adaptive Reuse Of Don Fernando Pacheco Adobe

The City of Concord has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) inviting qualified teams to rehabilitate, adaptively reuse, and manage the historic Don Fernando Pacheco Adobe along with several acres of surrounding land. The City hopes to find a partner who can restore one of Concord’s most significant landmarks while creating new community-oriented opportunities on the site.

Built in 1844, the adobe is among Concord’s oldest surviving structures and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Constructed by Don Fernando Pacheco, son of the Rancho Monte del Diablo grantee, it remains a rare physical link to California’s Rancho Period and a symbol of the region’s cultural heritage.

The RFP covers the 1.4-acre site containing the adobe, plus an adjacent 3.7 acres available for new development. Concord envisions a creative project that blends historic preservation with cultural, recreational, or community uses. Possible concepts include performance or meeting space, early childhood education facilities, or other amenities that benefit the public.

A pre-submittal meeting and non-mandatory site tour will take place at the adobe on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. Proposals are due by Friday, November 7, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., submitted to:

Justin Ezell, Assistant City Manager
City of Concord
1950 Parkside Drive
Concord, CA 94519

Equine therapy maybe?

At least 5 a day from someplace called the Tax Relief Fund…. to help me with my IRS problems!?!
All from area codes beginning with the number 8. I’ve blocked all their numbers; but they keep calling 4 or 5 times a day on my cell phone and 1or 2 times on our land line. I never answer; but they still leave a stupid message. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
