Way too many. We stay one step ahead of them. We don’t answer the phone unless we recognize the first and last name. Numbers are spoofed and they get blocked. Or they go straight to our answering machine that has been full for years. Robocall is ineffective and so is the DNC list. Life is great!

None, nada, zero, zilch! When I answer my phone I say hello, if I don’t get an immediate response, I hang up without saying another word. It’s been a very long time since I’ve had
a spam or robocall, and I would guess the reason is that I do not freely give out my number
to just anyone. The same goes with my e-mail address, I don’t give it out to anybody except friends and family. My doctor’s office doesn’t even have it. I don’t trust any business with my
e-mail address, because they will sell it.

If you answer your phone and don’t get a response, that’s a spam call. We don’t give out our number, and they still spoof our number. Everybody gets them. This is 2025, not the 50s. Get real.

If you read my comment carefully, I said it’s been a very long time since I’ve had a spam
or robocall. What that means is, it’s been a very long time since I said hello, and didn’t get
an immediate response. I only get calls from people I know.
You said everybody gets them, but you don’t know that because you don’t know everybody.
It’s time for you to get real.

I don’t know everybody, but everybody that has a phone number gets them because scammers use technology that targets anyone and everyone with a phone number. One plus one equals two.

Basically the lines are simply tested periodically by the phone company themselves. No one is supposed to respond because no one is calling.

ON DA, we live in a wealthy zip code therefore we’re targeted more often by scammers because there is more to lose financially, especially elderly wealthy people. We’re well aware of this, and besides living without a phone (or moving) there isn’t much we can do since we guard our phone number and our assets very carefully. The FDC doesn’t care. The calls we get are people calling mostly from out of the country, and Oklahoma. We’re technology savvy, and we’ve tracked it down.

Your comment is senseless, “I don’t know everybody, but everybody that has a phone
number gets them…” Millions of people have phone numbers, and you do not know
them, so you have no idea what everybody with a phone number gets. Please do not patronize me and do not reply to my comment unless you have something credible to
add. I will not continue this asinine argument with you.
Have a nice day

I get less spam calls; maybe 1/month. But I see the increase in spam text (threaten text messages from the supposedly government agencies)

BART, Franchise Tax Board, US Postal Service, at least once a quarter.

10+ I no longer use voicemail because it’s full of spam and a waste of time. My phone is set to block “Unknown” callers, which drives Kaiser crazy since they often block their caller ID. I only answer calls from people I know or am expecting. Plus, I receive 2-3 spam texts each day.

We have a landline and during Covid it was zero.
But they are kicking up a bit again.
Some days 3 or none.
Never pick up the phone, … only people we know.

It has definitely picked up but limited to just a few a day. I appreciate that the phone lists these as possible spam. I do also get that many calls from recruiters too (what can I say, I appear to be in fairly high demand).

… maybe 8-10 but never pick up unless we know the name or number

8-12 daily but some days more than 20.
I used to sue CA based telemarketers but a new Small Claims judge was hired and she does not want this in her court so she always finds for the defendant. So I had to stop.

The government said that they will take of the incessant spam call problem – It’s the Do Not Call List. When will that start working???

Hardly any on my personal phone. I turn them over to Google to tell me why they’re calling. If they are legit they can respond but obviously numbers and people I don’t know are spam and hang up. I have another number which mainly gets spam text messages. But last year was hell but the carrier seemed to not charge for those campaign spams.

I’ve experienced a decrease in the
number over the last 8-12 months.
Provider finally getting on the ball.
Your mileage of course, may vary.

“Do YOU, have a Do Not Call List as mandated by Federal LAW ?”

At least 5 a day from someplace called the Tax Relief Fund…. to help me with my IRS problems!?!
All from area codes beginning with the number 8. I’ve blocked all their numbers; but they keep calling 4 or 5 times a day on my cell phone and 1or 2 times on our land line. I never answer; but they still leave a stupid message. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Alot

I used to get many of such calls a day until I bought a cordless landline phone with automatic call screening functionality. Since then, I get virtually none. You can also set your Android cell phone to screen calls, although you have to initiate the screening for each call for that.
