The following is from the Concord Police Department:
Last night, around 10:20 pm, Concord Police Department officers were dispatched to John Muir Concord Medical Center when three males arrived with gunshot wounds after being driven there by friends. CPD determined that a shooting had just occurred in the municipal parking garage on Salvio Street. A suspect vehicle was quickly identified and the information shared with other law enforcement partners. Deputies from the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office located the suspect vehicle driving in Bay Point where they conducted a traffic stop and detained the occupants. The three shooting victims are all in stable condition and expected to survive. Concord Police Department detectives are still investigating the incident and trying to determine motives behind the shooting and if there are any other persons involved.

Growing up, there were a other names for Bay Point,
Gun Point and Dodge City.
I was at the meeting at Ambrose rec center when they changed it to Baypoint, $500,000… what a waste.

Many may not know this but that town was known previously as :West Pittsburg”. But it had such a bad reputation they tried to rename it “Bay Point”… but with a fresh new name, it still had the same citizenry doing the same things and soon got the nickname “gunpoint”. You know you can’t just put lipstick on a pig and make much of a difference

Prior to Bay Point going by the name of West Pittsburg it was called Bella Vista. For whatever reason they chose to not revert back to the name of Bella Vista, and instead chose the name Bay Point, named after the former City of Bay Point (1908-1931), which was the original name of the former City of Port Chicago (1931-1968). The former name of Port Chicago Highway in Bella Vista was Via Roma.
It used to be West Pittsburg aka West Pitt. A name change to Bay Point made things worse. I did live there, the constant breeze was nice. I was due to be on the municipal advisory committee. Another person got rubber stamped in by a #&%@ county supervisor whos alliterative name we all know well.

No description of the vehicle. Also no way to understand why the officers are in a neighborhood pulling over vehicles. I am glad these punks were caught. If I lived in the neighborhood, I would prefer that a picture of at least the car would be made available. Too often these punks drive reckless around our neighborhood and we have complained about the occupants of said vehicle. Do all the officers who serve our communities feel they can perform their jobs without our participation? My experience is that they can’t. Let us help.
