The new Chick-fil-A on Oak Grove Rd. near Ygnacio in Walnut Creek is going up faster than expected. This restaurant won’t have a drive-thru though, so construction should be wrapping up within a couple of months.
… site sat for a year+ before anything was done…. imho – without a drive through they won’t get their business model numbers – have they ever closed a restaurant? Traffic is already horrendous around there…. if no drive through there’s not nearly enough parking if it becomes popular

That is the difference between Walnut Creek and Concord. If it was Concord the construction wouldn’t even be started.
And would become the hell that is Clayton Rd and Ayers and Clayton rd And Treat and all concord cares about is money money money no matter how bad it makes the city gridlock. They know all those illgeals will be buying coffee and they get a slice of all sales. They should just make this city into city of Commerce that is all business and only has 12000 residents.,all they are about is business that pay big taxes.Concord treats its people like crap but if you try to open a business they require you make a huge contribution to the city of Concord like they did to the store that moved into th old Safeway building in Concord, and after giving Concord $30-40 k they didnt last 1 year in an area where your entire inventory will get stolen in 2 days.
and they would build it in the worst location and not care at all.

People are going to lose their minds when this opens, drive thru or not. The one in Walnut Creek is perpetually busy. It’s actually really good chicken. But there’s only like 5 things on the menu, all chicken based– nuggets, strips, sandwich, salad and grilled chicken. That’s there’s no drive thru may actually be a good thing, as that would likely cause back ups in an already busy traffic area.

I’m sure the employees there which will be the usual suspects wont wash thier hands after taking out the trash and go right back to making your food just like the carls JR that was there when i mentioned it and asked foe my money back, they made a big production about making that employee wash and everyone se it and they were he was the only one whos hand went near water the entire day as they acted like I was a racist when you gotta watch these people no matter what race they are.Low paid people dont care and rules or health and safety, they just wanna go home.
what a mistake they are making. Get ready for more crime , accidents and slower commute in the area.
at a Chick-fil-a with no drive thru really???? why? doesn’t make sense
Crime? What?
Haven’t been down there in a bit. It would be nice to see an El Polo Loco go in that lot or the surrounding area.
El Pollo Loco
I love Chick-fil-A and go there often.
I went to El Pollo Loco…. once.
It will not have a DriveThrough when it opens but it looks like they are leaving enough room for one on the south side of the building.
South side will be outdoor dining. City will not allow a drive-thru anywhere at that location.
Not initally, but in a few years who knows?
