The American College Of Obstetricians And Gynecologists Issues Statement On The Usage Of Acetaminophen By “Pregnant People”

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists issued a statement on the usage of Acetaminophen by “pregnant people.”

“Acetaminophen is one of the few options available to pregnant patients to treat pain and fever, which can be harmful to pregnant people when left untreated. Maternal fever, headaches as an early sign of preeclampsia, and pain are all managed with the therapeutic use of acetaminophen, making acetaminophen essential to the people who need it. The conditions people use acetaminophen to treat during pregnancy are far more dangerous than any theoretical risks and can create severe morbidity and mortality for the pregnant person and the fetus.”

Obstetricians and Gynecologists? Nope! Now they are medical school persons (a person who has been to medical school).

You notice the that article doesn’t mention anything about pregnant women
It talks about pregnant people.
As far as I know women are the only “people” who can get pregnant.
JUST SAYING

More posturing political nonsense.

What they are not telling us is that acetaminophen is the number one cause of liver failure in the United States. Trump was right when he said we shouldn’t be taking it. Long term use or
an accidental overdose can cause acute liver failure. Acetaminophen contains a byproduct
that will build up in the liver, resulting in rapid liver tissue death.
Here is a scenario where a person can unknowingly overdose:
Let’s say John has been suffering from chronic back pain and his doctor prescribed pain medicine for his back pain. John may be unaware of that a lot of pain pills such as Vicodin, Percocet, and many others contain acetaminophen. One day, John gets a cold, so he heads over to the drugstore to buy some over-the-counter cold medicine. He buys a bottle of Tylenol, and a bottle of Robitussin Maximum Strength cough syrup. As with a lot of people, John didn’t read the label, if he did, he would have seen the Robitussin contains acetaminophen. Taking his prescribed pain pills along with the Tylenol and Robitussin for the duration of his cold is a sure way to overdose. John’s liver may or may not be damaged, but this is one way people unknowingly overdose on acetaminophen.
Read the label, there are a lot of over-the-counter and prescribed medications that contain acetaminophen. If your medication is prescribed, ask the pharmacist, or look it up on
Google.

Acetaminophen damages the liver, ibuprofen damages the kidneys, and aspirin damages the stomach — and all NSAIDs affect hearing. All should only be taken when really necessary. And, yes, beware — acetaminophen is in a lot of over-the-counter cold medications. Read the labels!

Yet Tylenol themselves issued a statement in 2017 that said no preganant women shoudl use tylenol.

Tylenol tried to scrub the statement but the internet always remmebers

I can’t help but wonder if RFK Jr or Trump have stock in companies that make leucovorin.or alternative NSAIDs.

Pregnant People?
It sounds like whoever wrote this nonsense went through the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists on a fencing scholarship.

People, place or thing, can we just focus on Tylenol being safe or not.

You’re not supposed to drink alcohol if you are taking Tylenol so I say Tylenol isn’t safe for pregnant party girls that want to have normal kids…. well semi abnormal kids anyway…. we’re generally suspicious when the newborn burps instead of crying so you tipsy Moms ought not to think your fooling anyone.

Whoops! I made a mistake.
Here is my OCD apology.
I did one of those things I hate to see others do… I was typing along zippity doo and I typed “you tipsy Moms ought not to think your fooling anyone.” It should have read “ought not to think “you’re” fooling anyone” in fact the whole sentence structure was pretty screwy… bad punctuation and all.
Sorry about that.

We could if they didn’t try to use false language at every turn. Correcting this IS important. Do not let them take over language.

“Pregnant people” is used to promote gender-neutral language. It’s asinine when it’s a well-known fact that only women can get pregnant. If would be nice if men could get pregnant and give the ladies a break…

I believe the doctors before I will believe RFK, Jr.

I wonder how much money your trusty doctors have in pharmaceutical company stocks and how much kickback money they get for prescribing specific medications ?

Just shows how stupid we all can be. Remember when CNN was after Tylenol in 2011?
