Well… thank goodness!
After that late post last week I was certain it was a sign that the end of days was upon us and that ominous prediction from Africa that the world was going to end was coming true.
But now that warm & fuzzy feeling has returned and all is right with my little corner of the world once again.

I went to Walmart in Martinez yesterday (Thursday) and found that their refrigerated foods sections were empty and being cleaned up. This was due to a power outage caused by the thunderstorm. It wasn’t out in my area but wonder how many stores in the area were effected. That’s a lot of ruined food.

That was quite a light show, at 3 a.m. lightning was flashing every few seconds. It took
18 seconds before I heard the thunder, so that should have put the lightning about
three and a half miles away from me. I’m in Concord.

As you all know that I grew up in Denmark, it might surprise you, but we get some very violent thunderstorm, yes when the thunder comes right after the lightning it is very close to you.
As a teenager I wrote my bike for about for almost 8 miles from my job as a nanny to my parents house. Halfway a thunderstorm developed in the distance, however it seem the storm followed the same path as me, the sky got darker and darker, the lightning and thunder closer, I knew at one put it would start pouring, I don’t think I have ever ridden by bike so fast trying to get to my parents’ house without getting too wet or be struck by lightning.

Because heat waves but cold snaps!

Martinez Unified School District had its annual run for education today. I’m old enough to remember when schools respected Sundays.

Last Friday evening a man was beaten and robbed in W.C. at Locust and Bonanza.
No description of robbers, and almost no news coverage.
