Facebook will be missed. Good riddance to the rest.

Social media over populated with those who engage fingers, before brain.
.
Survived 70 + years without it. I am not interested in what someone is
about to eat. Far to many publicize their schedule, grocery shopping,
vacations, real smart tell those who have gathered enough to know
where they live. Hey, enjoy your vacation, come home to a barren house.
.
Have no social media accounts and never will.

Agreed, the only one I engage in is here.

I don’t use social media. I did try Facebook for a while, but got bored with it, and haven’t been
on it for over ten years. Most of what people post is nonsense and of no interest to me.
I wouldn’t secretly be glad if any of them are gone, let social media users enjoy themselves
with what ever makes them happy. Freedom is the American way.

I had facebook but i also havent been on there in like 10 years.
facebook is toxic.

Claycord is more of a forum. A forum is structured with a focus on topics and content based
on discussions that are shared through conversations. Whereas social media is more about networking and interactions with fast moving updates involving family and friends.

I don’t use social media so I wouldn’t miss it at all. Heck I wish all social media would disappear so people can go back to living a normal life and not admire others wishing it was there’s.

All I use is facebook just to keep in touch with family. No politics, no religion, just family stuff and amusing anecdotes. Anything more would just clog my mind with noise. Same reason I killed my television years ago. Claycord is good for local news and a few youtube channels I follow keep me up on current world events.
If facebook went poof there’s always email and Ma Bell.

Well, of course I would miss Claycord, … and a bit of Nextdoor.
Have not visited any other sites.

I tried social media like instagram, i couldnt stand it. Everyone posts the same thing like their dinner or their vacation. Its boring. Good riddance to social media.

No social media for me. I saw a great commentary in a recent WSJ cartoon.
One person is telling the other “I’m taking a break from my mental health to focus on social media.”
How perfect is that?

POOF! be gone instascam, tik tok and all dating sites.

Ha!
My oldest email address is from yahoo, and several people have used my email to sign up for things, so they don’t get the spam. One of those people signed up for a dating site. The first thing I did was to report that I’d forgotten my password, so the site emailed me the link for me to change the password. Then I rewrote her bio and changed everything she was looking for. And after that, I never went back to that site.

That couldn’t happen now, since sites require everyone to confirm their email when signing up. I like to think I helped make that rule happen.

Many years ago, when we lived in California, and the rest of my family was in Tennessee, I joined Facebook to see what my nieces and nephews were doing. I even convinced several of my friends to move from MySpace to Facebook. Now, I use Facebook to connect with schoolmates, Scout Leaders, Submariners, family, and friends I’ve actually met. For most everybody else, I’ve marked them as acquaintances and unfollowed them, so we’re still FB friends, without seeing each other’s posts. And scrolling past political rants helps preserve my sanity.

I have no use for Instagram or Tik Toc and would have no problem if either disappeared overnight.

“Social Media” began for me in the 1980s with BBS boards. Then added Compuserve, Genie and BIX. I’m sure you all remember those (not to mention AOL).
.
I never did Facebook because I already had my own websites. Family and relatives could find me there.

That was when places like AOL and Compuserve were destinations instead of gateways.

I wish they would all just disappear.

HATE (and I use that word sparingly)…Social Media is and has been the downfall of society as we know it
