The following is from the City of Martinez:
We are excited to see the Pier nearly finished! All work is now close to completion with crews putting on finishing touches with the railings, and public amenities like picnic tables and benches. Work recently completed includes light poles/fixtures and electric work. The walkway to the pier has also been regraded. The Pier is expected to be completed and opened early November, we will announce the ribbon cutting date and details soon.

Great job. Improving infrastructure will do much more to create a harmonious community, then creating a racial task force or putting BLM murals in front of the court house. Ditch the nonsense and stick to the basics.
Any word on getting the bait shop reopened? Need bait to fish. Preferable live bait.
It’s been open , just not officially, for a while.
Every time we go we see people on it fishing.
I was out there a week ago. If you walk out the jetty to the round end the actual pier begins. There were a couple guys fishing the end of the jetty but the structure was closed off.
I realy hate to ask this but, should their be a Small use fee to cover maintenance costs?

Yeah, but W/O continued maintenance which I believe the users should pay for, it will get F***ed Up.

How long before it gets spray painted with graffiti? … hope it lasts as it is for a long time
There was never substantial graffiti on the old Pier. I guess when the community actually uses and cares about something, they can police it themselves.
