On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at about 1:09 p.m., the Martinez Police Department received a report of a suspicious package at the Amtrak Train Station located at 601 Marina Vista. Officers quickly responded and secured the area as a precaution. The Walnut Creek Police Department Bomb Squad and Amtrak Police also responded to assist. After an on-site assessment, it was determined that the package was not an explosive device, and the area was safely cleared. Sometimes they just detonate a package to be sure it isn’t a bomb.
Glad they didn’t have to do that…. it might break some windows or turn out to be a box full of kittens.
