Concord Police arrested one driver on suspicion of driving under the influence during a DUI enforcement patrol on October 16, 2025.
Officials remind drivers that impaired driving isn’t limited to alcohol use. Certain prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs can also affect a person’s ability to drive safely. Police advise motorists to follow dosage instructions and pay attention to warning labels that mention driving or operating heavy machinery. Although marijuana is legal for both medicinal and recreational use in California, it remains illegal to drive under its influence. Concord Police will continue conducting DUI enforcement patrols throughout the year to help keep local roads safe. The operation was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
