According to my kids, my home in Clayton and my old home in Antioch are both haunted. I just found this out last week.

When the kids were really young, they would talk about hearing kids running up and down our wood floors when nobody was home. They would hear the laughing too. Then we moved to Clayton. Now my youngest says that she saw a woman in the house that darted into the older’s bedroom. Apparantly, this has happened many times. The younger described the woman to the older one, who pulled up a photo of Sarah Norton. The younger confirmed that was the woman she saw. The oldest says that she also saw Sarah at the Antioch house.

So, yeah, I believe in ghosts.

True story – I don’t know if it would be called a ghost or an apparition or?? …. about 2 months after my father passed away my brother and I were in the living room of our 3 bedroom suburban home… (mother passed away before as well) ….we were watching TV – house was quiet otherwise, windows and doors closed – at the same time my brother and I heard my father call out to us from a back bedroom – we froze! looked at each other in disbelief and scared the cxxp out of us (we were in our early 20’s) …..we had goosebumps like never before – we looked at each other and said we needed to go see …we slowly walked down the hallway to the bedrooms and of course there was nobody there. If I was alone and heard it I’d say I heard things – but we both heard the same thing at the same time and it was unmistakable…. no I hadn’t been drinking….

It was a parrot!

The most haunted place I ever visited was the Queen Mary ship/hotel in Long Beach, CA when I stayed there overnight.

I used to live in an old Victorian house in the City. One night while I was sleeping, I woke
up and felt a slight breeze. I looked up and saw a young woman in a white sleeping gown standing in front of the open window with her arms stretched out like she was yawning. I thought it was a dream, so I went back to sleep. In the morning, I got up and saw the window was still open, and I knew I didn’t open it. I thought it was a little strange, so I talked to a neighbor that has lived on the same street for many years. He told me about a young woman that lived there in the 1930s, and one night her ex-boyfriend climbed through the window and shot her to death. Was that her ghost? I have no idea, but I do know that just because an event or a thing cannot be explained doesn’t mean the event didn’t happen, or the thing doesn’t exist.

Not in the traditional sense. I sense when a loved one in a Spiritual visitation is near. Thru my
dreams. Many have seen apparitions of such. My dreams have provided genuine visitations from
the departed, even guidance.
Never one place. Lying down asleep normally.

The ghost walk in Clayton Halloween night. Do they still have it? I went on it a couple times in the 1990’s, a nice walk around the town and there are several spooky spots that were pointed out to us. Anyone remember it? Black Diamond mines is spooky too. Also, my grandpa died in the 1950’s in Ohio, in the middle of the night. Grandpa’s dog was howling and woke every one up, the dog was in the front yard howling and looking up to the sky. They checked on Grandpa,he was dead and his dog knew. .

The last location that my work was in was haunted. Several of us had experiences there. Mostly just footsteps, cold breezes or things falling off shelves. The place had a creepy vibe when you were there alone. There was one that was a bit more violent, but I’m not sharing that as others know the story and I don’t need them knowing who I am on here.

I remember in the early ’70s my dad took us to Alcatraz for the walking tour through the prison. As soon as we walked in I started feeling sick to my stomach and felt ice cold the whole way through. Once we were back outside I was fine.

Colonial Hotel in La Jolla. Had to change rooms to the outside Patio because of scary things happening.
Yes, the Grande Colonial Hotel in La Jolla is rumored to be haunted, with ghost stories dating back to its founding in 1913. The hotel itself has acknowledged these stories on its website.
Commonly reported paranormal activity includes:

  • Unexplained noises, such as slamming doors and phantom footsteps.
  • Sightings of apparitions in rooms and hallways.
  • Moving objects, including appliances that turn on by themselves.
  • Late-night phone calls coming from an unoccupied room, with the phone later found off the hook.

It is speculated that some of the spirits may belong to soldiers who stayed in the hotel when parts of it were used as barracks during World War II.

I saw an object fly off a shelf and across a hallway.
That was also witnessed by several people… no trickery involved.
It frightened one of the women so badly she cried.

I do not believe in ghosts. I want to/wanted to, because I had many vivid dreams where my father visited me soon after he died. I woke up not scared but sad. I had dreams of people watching over me, waking up certain there were dark figures at the foot of my bed. Of course, headlights of vehicles, shadows etc.,, because why would something just stand there? It started a belief in many of my friends and family members that our basement was haunted, because they all saw ghosts, heard things as well. Mind is powerful and can really play tricks. Most haunting place (somber is a better term) was Arlington National Cemetery. Not scary, just heavy with thought of all those there and the sacrifices they made. I will recall that feeling I had the first time I stepped on that hallowed ground for the rest of my days.
