NO, did not like distractions, same way in retirement.
I’ll go days without turning phone on.
.
New employees went thru 40 hours of Safety training. Guy giving class
related one new hire was told several times, phone use only on breaks
and lunch. After repeated warnings still was on phone, was told, you’re gone.
Phone cost him a very well paying living wage job ! ! !
.
Employee operating remote control overhead crane with 30 ton load
while looking down at his phone’s text messages.
Not watching surroundings for possible problems or the 30 ton load.
Got a well deserved written reprimand, five day suspension, subject to
conversion to discharge.

I use my cell phone as an alarm clock.I call it Veriz’n shine..

I never check my phone during work hours I only have my text messages set for certain people like my boss and my boss would text me letting me know that this Friday you can go home early other calls and texts are silence.

If you’re wondering with my job is I work for a dreamforce and I pay all my bills was all my dreams

I don’t have work hours, I took an early retirement so I can continue on my journey in the pursuit of happiness without undue interference from outside forces, and one of those forces
is a cell phone. I will turn my cell phone on when I need to make a long distance or toll call, other than that it’s left off. I use my landline for local calls because the phone is easier to hold up to my ear and I can hear better with it. I do not use my cell as a computer when I have a perfectly good desktop with a larger screen and keyboard. So to answer the question, before retirement, when I went to work I left the cell phone in the car, if I needed to make a phone
call or use the internet, I had a company phone and computer that I used. The company was good with it and gave us their approval.

Desk tops have always worked great for me. 🙂

I think they don’t want anyone to have a desktop or laptop even. Probably on some cooked-up excuse that they use too much electricity. I would hate to develop an app on a phone but it looks like only “enterprise” will be able to develop apps and those won’t include those niche market ones that independent developers make. It’s all about control.

whenever it rings or I get texts as I need it for work reasons. Otherwise I am at a computer and can look up information my phone could that way

I tell people I don’t live on my phone so I may miss their call. Actually most friends and businesses use email or messaging to contact me. I can probably count on one hand how many voice calls I get a month (not counting another phone that sends calls to voice mail).

Neither one of us had cell phones at work.
My Hubby didn’t have a cell phone till about 6 months ago, …. only used it twice.
I have one for 15 years, and it’s for emergency, … maybe 4 times a year.
I totally dislike the tiny cell phone screens, … I enjoy rather use our computer for surfing.

My job lets me have my phone on me and play music at a reasonable volume.
i check it once in a while to text my boss if something happens at work.

6 minutes and 27 seconds…honestly 😉

Due to the nature of my work, I can’t check my phone constantly, nor do I feel a need to. I do check it on my breaks. Sometimes to get a hold of a manager that is on a different floor I will text them.
