California Gas Prices Lower As Demand Stays Flat

California drivers are seeing a slight break at the gas pump, with the statewide average for a gallon of regular gasoline falling five cents over the past week to $4.60. Prices are now two cents lower than they were at this time last year. Nationally, gas prices have remained mostly steady, with the average rising only a couple of cents to $3.07. While the national average has yet to dip below the $3 mark, drivers are still paying less than they did a year ago, and analysts expect that downward trend to continue as the colder months approach.

AAA Mountain West Group spokesperson Doug Johnson noted that gasoline demand typically drops during the fall as fewer people take road trips, leading to lower prices that often bottom out in the winter. Prices across major California cities remain above the national average but vary slightly by region: San Francisco drivers are paying about $4.69 per gallon, while Oakland sits at $4.61, San Jose at $4.55, Sacramento at $4.57, Fresno at $4.54, and Stockton at $4.44.

I guess I don’t really look much at gas prices have no idea how high they been or low, my neighbor asked me this morning where have you found the lowest price gas. I don’t know when I need to fill up I just pull into the first gas station I see I don’t even look at the prices it’s not much of a concern of mine never has been.

… lower? as CA is 40%+ more than the rest of the country?! …. we have the highest tax on fuel in the country and it doesn’t even go 100% towards road maintenance as it’s supposed to do …. it gets siphoned off to other Newsom’s pet projects… and just a reminder – his campaign promise was to being CA gas costs in line with the rest of the country and stop big oil gouging of CA … did he? noooooooo
