Some undocumented immigrants will drive will drive because they feel the need to for whatever reason. I would like them to know the laws about driving. I was a few cars behind a fire truck going up Monument Blvd. One car just stopped in the left lane and blocked the fire truck. He did not know he was supposed to pull over into the right lane. Getting a license forces them to know the laws.

I don’t believe your story, and I will tell you why. How would you know the driver is in the country illegally, and how would you know if he or she doesn’t have a license? I see plenty
of people getting confused when an emergency vehicle is approaching with lights and sirens. It happens a lot, but I wouldn’t assume they don’t have a license or are in the country illegally. Some people are just plain stupid.
No & no …. starting with Brown then continuing with Newsom … they were “encouraged” to apply for licenses under AB60 …. thus getting more votes for the governors here being gracious enough to grant them licenses even though they were undocumented ….
Undocumented immigrants are not allowed to vote, even if they qualify for a driver’s licence! Mexican undocumented are also unable to apply for asylum in the USA. Once, before Operation Wetback, Mexican farm workers were allowed to work in fields and go home and back freely with the seasons. My great grandfather here in Concord used to hire what they called hobos back then, when it came time to cut his oat hay and wheat on his Willow Pass ranch, later taken by the Navy. No one asked what nationality these laborers were or cared where they came from. My great grandfather had them sleep in the barn at night for free. My grandmother remembers her mom having to cook all day too feed those hungry bellies. No charge for the food either, and they all got paid when the work was done, and then they would ride the train to other spots.

Illegal immigrants were counted in the census. States are apportioned representatives based on the census. So the millions of undocumented increased the number of Electoral College votes that our state has.
The more illegals in CA, the more national clout the democrats have, since they’ve dominated this state for generations. This is why the dems pander to them.
People without driver license are not allowed to driver either but we all know people who are unlicensed that still drive.
For example, Ian Roberts, the former superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools, was arrested by ICE in September 2025 for being an undocumented immigrant with a criminal history, despite being hired in 2023. It was recently discovered that Roberts also appears on the voter rolls of the State of Maryland despite being in the country illegally.

Here’s how the trucking industry works. Insular corporations – often raced-based – hire immigrants that will take any job they can get, despite the low wage.
These corporations open a multitude of shell companies so they can say their business has operated for years without an incident. When a business finally accrues enough incidents, they close it and put Mr Singh to work in another shell company. In some cases the driver is issued a license that says “NO NAME GIVEN”. So there is little accountability on both the personal and corporate level.
A good start is to require english proficiency for a valid license.

Speaking of prop 50 had an old man knocking on her door yesterday he had to be at least 75 years old ranting and raving about vote yes on 50 stop Trump, so I politely asked him why the hell should I do that, and why do you even care at your age. I think I scared him a little bit because he turned around and walked off.
