The Contra Costa Mosquito and Vector Control District early Friday morning will be spraying pesticide in parts of Antioch targeting an invasive mosquito species. The spraying will take place between 3-6 a.m. for larval mosquitoes from the Aedes aegypti species. The treatment area is bordered on the north by Mountaire and Ashburton drives, on the south by Brookside Drive and Burwood Way, on the east by Barmouth Drive, and on the west by Garrow Drive, according to the district. The pesticide being used only impacts mosquito larvae as they grow in sources of water. Aedes aegypti is a small, dark mosquito that has the ability to transmit viruses that cause dengue fever, chikungunya, yellow fever, and Zika, district officials said.
Spay, baby, spray.
I love the smell of malathyon in the morning.
“The pesticide being used only impacts mosquito larvae”. Oh sure it does..NOT, it affects every living thing breathing that mist in INCLUDING humans.
They said that about Agent Orange too
Just a question here. Why now when the weather is getting colder and they will die anyways?
Also… what are the effects if you happen to be out early in the morning and breath the mist in?
It doesnt just go where the mosquitors are breeding it goes everywhere..
