No More Kasper’s With A “K”: Concord Location Closes For Good

Kasper’s with a “K” has officially closed its doors on Clayton Road in Concord, marking the end of an era for fans of the once-popular East Bay hot dog chain. The closure means there are now no more Kasper’s with a “K” locations left in existence – a name that once sparked confusion with the similarly named “Caspers” hot dog chain. Caspers with a “C” opened in 1934, but after a disagreement between family members (possibly between brothers) it split into Kasper’s and Caspers. If true, they sure do know how to hold a grudge!

Never cared for them I’d rather drive across town to go to Caspers with a “C”. Nowadays tho I fix a polish cheese dog at home that’s better than Caspers and no drive involved.

Every time I drove by Kaspers in Concord, I saw the place empty with people. I tried it once many years ago and their dogs were just so so. Been going to Caspers in PH for over 55yrs. Still a great place for a good dog.

This just doesn’t make any sense…”I saw the place empty with people” was it empty or were there people in it which would indicate that it wasn’t empty…

This is the same person that wrote that song “Out in the Country” with that line “before the sun becomes a bright spot in the night sky”………wait……wut??

If I’m going out for a meal, it’s not going to be a hot dog!!

My family is actually quite sad about losing the long standing place. We don’t eat hot dogs on a regular basis..but when my boys come home to visit it is always on our list of places to go. The food was consistently good.
