QUESTION: In a recent interview, Kamala Harris said we should reduce the voting age to 16. Do you think the voting age should be 16, or do you think 18 is good?
Absolutely Not!!
Think it should be changed to 21.

No…. most 16 yr olds have not had the exposure to what’s going on in the world yet and are prone to rash emotional urges – likes and dislikes. I know 18-21 yr olds that are not mature enough to be handed the responsibility for intelligent voting – for that matter even middle aged & seniors…. but if we ask younger people to put their lives on the line in the military they should be allowed to vote – just not at 16 yrs. old.
That is exactly why a dem would want the age lowered!

“What else do we know about this population, 18 through 24? They are stupid. That is why we put them in dormitories, and they have a resident assistant. They make really bad decisions.” – Kamala Harris, Democrat nominee for President of the United States.

I wouldn’t put any stock in Kamala’s suggestions, her past and current actions have proven
to be problematic. If she had any intelligence at all, she’d be even more destructive.
To answer the question, no, it should be brought back up to 21. In my opinion, lowering the
voting age is a Democrat ploy designed to turn elections to their own advantage.
With age comes wisdom, and the first 16 years of life are not enough years to gain much
wisdom.
Abe,
.
So, you want government bureaucrats to decide who is eligible to vote by subjectively evaluating testing for literacy, mental stability, and character values. Good luck with that!!! I’m sure the public will have full faith and trust in those decision making bureaucrats, just as you do.
there are a few actual representatives, particularly a dim, Boston educated “economist,” sanders student/toady/puppy dog who would not likely pass at least a few of those criteria/standards you list. Started off young and stupid, now is older and just as stupid. Of course, a certain party would also demand they set what those standards/criteria are (can you imagine the standards set by the remarkably adept stock picking lunatic from SF?).

NO. That young they are too easily manipulated and influenced by the “viral”. Arguably, 18 is also too young for same reasons, although I do agree that if someone can be drafted at 18 they should be able to vote.

Kamala Clown, going for the feeble minded adolescent 16 &17 year olds. It’s the only extra votes the Dums can get out there.
NO ,,,,Just watch the movie “Wild in the Streets”, 1968 to see what happens when the young people take over and try to lower the voting age to 14.

Dems just love to get more votes for people who don’t pay for there programs. They are more likely to vote yes for their programs, while everyone else pays for them.

The voting age should be he same as the drinking age.
If society thinks that you’re not responsible enough to drink, then how can society think that you’re responsible enough to vote? And vice-versa.

Sure, let a kid who thinks of girls, video games and muscle cars, vote. NFW People who didn’t pay attention in history classes in New York city could get an up close real life learning experience if Zohran Mamdani is elected. Will end up being what democrats have done to California. . If only they had more money they could make communism work in CA.

No. At that age, they lack any life experience. Same is true for 18, but you can argue that at 18, they should have completed or are close to completing high school (irrelevant how poor that education is/was). At 16, instead of researching the positions of each candidate (we all do that, correct?), they should still be learning the rules of the road, preparing for the upcoming midterms, searching for that first job.

Well let’s use logic here. We do not allow minors to sign contracts, we do not allow minors to get tattoos, we do not let minors sign up for the military, we do not let minors, we do not let minors purchase alcohol…etc there are too many examples of what a minor is not allowed to do so how is this even a question. Why on earth should we allow a minor to vote? Come on let’s hear it, please let’s hear the reason’s why a minor should vote.

Kamala in one of her campaign speeches dis’d young people during her campaign. But now she wants 16 y/o’s to vote? Outrageous. I work at a high school. 16 y/o’s are still children in almost adult bodies. They’re too impressionable, gullible, vulnerable to make decisions on what to vote for. But democrats will stoop that low to grow their voter base.
I think we are witnessing desperation at remaining relevant from kammie. Certainly not a new idea, not sure she is capable of any original thought.

If anything, it should be raised to 25. You should not be able to vote at all if you are on welfare, you don’t get to vote to give yourself more of our money. If you cannot pass a 5th grade civics test. If you don’t at least know what the 3 branches of government are. Basic proof that you know what you are doing when you vote. Obviously not if you are here illegally. We need less people voting not more.
No! Definitely not 16.
Nevertheless, I do believe there should be one nationwide legal age of majority for voting, signing contracts, buying alcohol, tobacco & other legal drugs, and making medical decisions without parental approval. I think that age should be 18, but your mileage may vary.

The voting age should be determined by testing for literacy, mental stability, and character values.
That would eliminate a LOT of people.
People receiving handouts form the government (snap, sections 8, etc.) should NOT get a vote.

Kamala relates better with adolescents, she seems to have the same mental capacity
for thought and intelligence.
With a person like Kamela being reelected over and over again just shows you how stupid the voters are out there.
You sure you’re not confusing her with that ‘stable genius’?
Probably about 10% of the 16 year olds would have any idea of the issues. For the rest it would just be PARTYTIME!
