AAA: Gas Prices Climb Despite Introduction Of Winter Blend

California’s average price for a gallon of gasoline jumped 12 cents since last week, reaching $4.69. Refinery maintenance across the state is part of the reason for the increase: when refineries pause production, gas prices in the area temporarily go up. However, relief may be coming as California gas stations made the switch to the cheaper winter blend gasoline on November 1.

Nationally, gas prices remain stable as November kicks off. The national average for a gallon of regular went up nearly 5 cents since last week to $3.08. Still, the national average is lower than it was this time last year, and gas prices should remain on a quiet path as we get closer to Thanksgiving.

Fuel Prices Around the State:
San Francisco: $4.69
Oakland: $4.58
San Jose: $4.51
Sacramento: $4.52
Fresno: $4.51
Stockton: $4.40

According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand decreased from 8.92 million b/d last week to 8.87 million. Total domestic gasoline supply decreased from 210.7 million barrels to 206 million. Gasoline production increased last week, averaging 9.8 million barrels per day.

“Relief may be coming” but don’t hold your breath!
It’s always something……

Anyone notice the expanded restrictions on carpool and express lanes. On parts of 80, they removed the carpool lane and installed the express lane running from 5am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Outrageous money grab.

…. and let’s not forget Newsom’s campaign promises of bring CA gas price parity with the rest of the nation and stop big oil gouging ….. yeah right … we’re still about 40% higher than the rest of the country

Imagine that…. liars. You know why gas prices go up in Ca???? because they can, no other reason

You may want to change “despite” to “because of”. As I understand it, only California does blends and when you make a change its typically not free. Especially if it’s only for one state. As I travel to other states and see what they pay for fuel, it sure feels like we get ripped off.

Even in states that have no state taxes, their roads are better than ours. We pay extra for nothing it seems.
