Needless to say, I’m very disappointed thst Californians voted to pass proposition 50!
This unfsir rigging is going to deprive California’s middle road and conservative areas their representation. Gavin Newsom says it’s only for three election cycles- enough for his presidential hopes- but I don’t think it will ever change back. Despite what people may think, 30% of the state still votes conservative that’s almost one out of three people. That’s a big minority group to totally take away representation from. And I’m sure Gavin Newsom will not stop funding the implementation of this proposition, like he did proposition 34 which the voters passed to crack down on criminals. That was thwarted by his lack of funding. What next? A socialist Governor for California?
Is this “unfair rigging” in Texas and North Carolina too? Is it unfair if Trump asks states to gerrymander to favor Republicans?
I wish all gerrymandering were abolished nationwide.

In 2024 Donald Trump received 38.3% of California votes while Vice President Kamala Harris received 58.5%
California currently has 43 congressional seats held by Democrats and only 9 held by Republicans.

Was Harris just such a horrible, awful candidate that many Democrats voted Republican or does California actually have more Republican voters than they claim who are not properly represented due to gerrymandering? (or both?).
The blue wave happened on Nov 4. Thank you Obama for lending some of his political magic! Prop 50 passed because he endorsed it. I hope other blue states are ready to redraw theirs districts just in case the GOP attempt to redraw theirs districts. Newsome is awesome and his chance of becoming the next president is real

For Governor Gavin Newsom and former Vice President Kamala Harris to be on the same ticket in 2028, then one of them would have to establish residency in another state, as Electors are prohibited from voting for both a presidential and vice presidential candidate from the same state. Currently, Governor Newsom has residency in Kentfield, Marin County, and former Vice President Harris has residency in the Brentwood Neighborhood, City of Los Angeles.

It doesn’t matter how difficult or simple it would be for Governor Newsom or former Vice President Kamala Harris to change residency, the fact is that they currently don’t qualify as a presidential ticket, unless the Democratic Party chooses to give away the presidency or vice presidency to a Republican when the Electoral College votes, or the states that still allow and count the votes of “faithless Electors” would be enough to elect a Vice President Newsom or a Vice President Harris in 2028, but because those states include 156 Electoral Votes from 18 reliably “red” states, it’s a near impossibility of that happening.

You’re more than free to keep wishing for your dream ticket of Newsom-Harris 2028 or Harris-Newsom 2028, no matter how miniscule of a chance exists for it to actually happen.
I did forget to add that Senator Edmund Muskie also made it to the ticket in 1968, after being an early frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Newsom signed the 2024-25 California state budget that reduced funding for wildfire prevention by $101 million dollars.
He also reduced funding for mental health services, individuals with disabilities and crime victims….. then he blew $250 million on an election to rig the rules in favor of his political interests…. and all his sheep supported it.
Their goals, justify the means.
It goes to show that his supporters have no clue what he’s doing and how he’s destroying the state.They only know what greasy Gavin’s says on his self promoting propaganda TV commercials

It looks like the Democratic Senators have finally come to their senses, well at least 8 of them have decided that they can no longer starve Americans by shutting down the government.
I am not disappointed in our State royatly, cause I would not expect anything less than Newsom, Wiener and Schiff; all who have already publically said that they do not approve and 2 of the 3 saying that they will vote no. A ‘no’ vote continues to starve United States of America citizens .. so for you supporters of those 3 lunatics, can you really stand by and watch United States of America citizens starve? Every state, county, and city is free to engage the opportunity to self fund or supplement SNAP/food stamps programs. There’s no reason for people to “starve” as a result of the federal government shutdown when state and local governments have the power to take action.
