The Concord Police Department released its burglary report for the week of October 29 through November 4, 2025, showing a mix of commercial burglaries and several shoplifting incidents at retail locations around the city.

Three separate burglaries were reported during the week. On October 30, officers investigated two commercial break-ins at business properties along Willow Pass Road and Via de Mercados, both classified as felony burglaries. Two days later, on November 1, another burglary occurred at a restaurant on Port Chicago Highway, also classified as a felony. In addition to those break-ins, police responded to multiple shoplifting cases throughout the week. These occurred at several stores, including department and discount retailers on Salvio Street, a clothing store inside Sunvalley Mall, a supermarket on Diamond Boulevard, and a home improvement store on Meridian Park Boulevard. Two convenience stores on Concord Avenue were also hit by shoplifters on October 29. No residential burglaries were reported during the week.

It is beyond ridiculous that more isn’t done. The area off Via De Mercados is right at criminal/homeless central and happens to be exactly where I work. It is absolutely awful and abhorent what all of the small business owners are forced to put up with, criminals trying to pry open our rollup door to access the shop, front glass door completely smashed out and homeless defacating on camera at our front door as they smile into the camera. So happy all that Mark DeSalnier can do for us is cry about Trump and “No Kings” while his tax generating law abiding small business owners have no recourse.
