The historic beacon atop Mount Diablo will be lit tonight in honor of Veterans Day, serving as a powerful symbol of remembrance for those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Known as the “Eye of Diablo,” the light can be seen for miles across the Bay Area and has become a cherished local tradition. The beacon, first dedicated by aviator Charles Lindbergh in 1928, was originally used as an aviation guide before being darkened during World War II. Today, it’s illuminated each year on Veterans Day, Pearl Harbor Day, and Memorial Day as a tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and service of America’s veterans.
… will be looking forward to seeing it lit
