Two people were arrested on suspicion of a series of armed robberies around the East Bay this week, Walnut Creek Police said. On Oct. 20, someone reported his work truck stolen in Walnut Creek. He described two suspects who were driving a gray Dodge Challenger, according to police. A short time later, an armed carjacking was reported at 1805 Ygnacio Valley Blvd in Walnut Creek, allegedly with the same vehicle and suspect description.
Investigators determined that the same suspects were wanted in connection with armed robberies in Pittsburg, Antioch and El Sobrante, Walnut Creek Police said. Multiple law enforcement agencies collaborated and found the suspects, Julio Villalobos, 21, and Britney Zuniga, 23, both from Oakland. The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s office filed 11 felony counts for Villalobos and 7 felony counts for Zuniga, according to Walnut Creek PD.
