A 55-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a vehicle Sunday night in Concord, police said. The collision happened shortly before 8 p.m. on Monument Blvd near Reganti Dr, where officers found the pedestrian unresponsive. The man, whose name wasn’t released, was pronounced dead by medical personnel. Concord police said Monday that the driver stayed the scene, and that drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision. No other information about what happened was immediately available. The collision is still under investigation. Any witnesses are asked to contact Traffic Unit Officer Evan Doiron at (925) 671-5096.
I’m not saying this is the case in this instance, but too many people wear dark clothing,
not realizing they may not be clearly seen at night while crossing the street.
Poor guy.
Yeah. Certainly not the driver’s fault if someone steps into traffic, outside of a crosswalk, wearing dark clothing. It is sad and everyone needs to be careful.
I don’t who this person was but there are a lot of J-walkers on Monument Blvd. Many of them are from a certain demographic and I find myself avoiding them all the time.
I know, right?! Young white people are always jaywalking wherever I’m driving, too!
On Monument specifically?
Matter of fact he wasn’t wearing dark color clothes so that is wrong maybe people need to pay more attention then they do he was someone son dad brother an many friends that he had that love him an now he is gone u people are wrong to say it’s his fault not drivers sorry to his family an friends
