The Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) is moving forward with plans to transform the Walnut Creek BART Station into a modern shared mobility hub – a place where multiple transportation options come together to make travel easier, faster, and more connected.
Shared mobility hubs bring together a variety of travel modes such as walking, biking, transit, carpooling, ride-hailing, and other first- and last-mile solutions. Because the Walnut Creek BART Station sits just south of the downtown core and already serves as a major regional transit point, officials say it’s an ideal location for improvements that prioritize accessibility and seamless travel.
CCTA is now asking the public to weigh in on near-term upgrades and long-term vision through a brief online survey. The feedback will help determine which features and improvements should come first as the agency works with partners to re-imagine the station area. The survey takes about three minutes to complete and is available HERE.
Why? The CCTA will just do what they want to anyway, just as government agencies always do!!!
This is just another dog-and-pony show to make the gullible feel needed and important.
The CCTA will do what it pleases unless someone pays it big bucks to do something else.
The people are of no consequence.
The way redid everything is a mess. The bus system area is dark and unsafe. If I thought it would matter I would say more. I used to ride in and out of there often, not so much anymore.
…and yet we keep hearing BART is broke and they need to increase fares or taxes. Huh.
This says BART is the location, not that the agency is paying for it – at least at this point…
