Use them for traffic enforcement on specific roads and freeway stretches, if drones can fly that fast.
I’m all for it. I never see motorcycle cops in Pleasant Hill anymore. I wouldn’t want a drone coming by my backyard unexpected though.

A lot cheaper than flying a helicopter around. Just stay away though from adopting a “1984” mentality.

They watch everything else why not that to. I saw somebody mention public oversight , they turned the scanners off there is not much oversight. There’s a lot of crime in this town. The scanner in Concord was busier than the scanner in Vallejo. Does anybody remember the freedom we used to have? If the Democrats stay in office, you better remember your heil salute, your going to need it!

I think the ED-209 model could be a success if we did a little fine tuning.

It depends on the context, I assume they are already using them for certain situations. But if it’s to peek in my neighbors’ and my windows – not so much.

Overused. Not against it totally, but it seems like the drones need to comply with Bill of Rights protections to be used.

I’m surprised at the amount of people who don’t mind being watched all the time. I thought everyone cherished their privacy. Before you know it they will have a camera in every bathroom. You know the old saying you give them an inch they’ll take a mile..
Just Saying,

It’s because most Americans really don’t like freedom, they say they’re for freedom, but then they turn right around and are always willing to give away our freedoms and rights to the government, all for PERCEIVED safety and security.

We’ve already had a camera installed in a bathroom right here in the City of Concord. Don’t you remember when former Concord Police Chief George Straka had a camera installed in a men’s restroom at the old Concord Police Station? Don’t you remember the $30 million lawsuit filed against the City of Concord as a result of Chief Straka’s illegal actions? The Concord Police Department, or any law enforcement agency, would NEVER abuse the tools that you so willingly want to give them, right?

How about just using them to round up illegals and getting ones retrofitted with rubber bullets to spray at the rioting liberals.

I am all for anything that helps law enforcement officers enforce the laws… unlike the Democrat politicians and their supporters who support and enable criminals and promote crime.

So, you’re really “all for ANYTHING that helps law enforcement officers enforce the laws…”? Well ANYTHING would begin with stripping ALL Americans of ALL of their rights and confiscating all privately owned firearms, just to start with. A Republican who has full faith and trust in the government, in a state, county, and city run by Democrats, you’re an odd one. Or are you just for ANYTHING as long as the government uses the tools that you want to give them, as long as those tools are used the way that you want them used, because the government never abuses the powers that the people entrust the government with, right? So you want to give the government more power!!! You mentioned “Democrat politicians,” do you believe the Democrat politicians and peace officers in California would never abuse the powers that you so willingly want to give them? If so, you’re not a very good student of history.
.
You’re also beginning to sound a lot like Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. He was all for the FISA Courts granting Section 702 warrants to spy on Americans, telling Americans that it’s not violating their rights because Americans don’t know if they’re being spied upon. Fast forward a decade or more and Senator Graham finds out that the Biden Administration’s Special Counsel Jack Smith obtained his phone records. Now Senator Graham is outraged that he was spied on and he’s now going to sue the U.S. government because they spied on him. Just like Lindsey Graham, you’re just fine with granting the government more powers, as long as they’re used the way you want them used, but when another guy comes along and uses those powers in a way that you don’t like or against you, then you’re outraged and angry.

If it makes their job easier and safer, go for it.
Bust the bad guys, and elect prosecutors that prosecute.
Dawg nailed it in less words than I was going to use. Perfect!
For it for major issues and used judiciously and with public sector supervision
Seeing as insurance companies can use drones to view properties I have no problem with the police using them.
Why not just ban insurance companies from using drones? Elect non-Soros DA’s that prosecute crimes. And use police drones only in extreme situations?
In other words – Do you want to expand the surveillance state or minimize it?
Nope, tools in the toolbox.

As Ben Franklin said “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”
