A major BART train service disruption between the Hayward and Berryessa stations was caused by suspected vandalism that damaged wayside equipment, preventing trains from safely operating, according to officials with the transit agency. The discovery came after BART officials earlier clarified that the disruption was not related to a computer network issue as messages from their system initially reported, but due to damaged trackside equipment. Green line trains from Daly City are turning back at the Bay Fair station, and Orange line trains from Richmond are stopping at the Hayward station. Riders were urged to alternate transportation until repairs are complete. Crews are now working to repair the system, but BART does not yet have an estimated time for restoring full service.
Vandalism or copper theft? Either way find the dirt bags and lock them up.
Bart cannot keep its trains running.
It needs more and more money to sustain inferior service.
Bart thinks that having breakdowns about once a month will sway the people to vote for a bailout.
Only the gullible will vote to give more money to Bart.
Sadly, the state will support Bart no matter how the people vote.
The corruption is unimaginable.
Bart security sucks they have cameras everywhere and nobody saw this happening?
