The Clayton Crime Roundup – DUI Cases Dominate Mid-November Activity

Clayton Police responded to two traffic accidents in the city over the past week, both of which resulted in no injuries. The first occurred on November 15 at the intersection of Pine Hollow Road and Mt. Zion at 10:41 p.m. The second took place on November 17 at Oakhurst Drive and Indian Head Way just after 1 a.m.

Officers also made several arrests during the same period. Early on November 15, a driver was stopped on Ygnacio Valley Road for vehicle code violations and later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, along with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful paraphernalia. He was taken to the Concord Police Department for booking.

Later that night, officers responding to a call for service at Pine Hollow Road and Mt. Zion arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to Concord Police for booking. A similar DUI arrest occurred on November 17 at Oakhurst Drive and Indian Head Way, where officers contacted a 39-year-old man following a call for service and took him into custody.

On November 17, officers were called to Kenston Drive, where they arrested a 48-year-old woman on suspicion of battery, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of unlawful paraphernalia. She was released on a signed promise to appear. The following day, a traffic stop at Clayton Road and Atchinson Stage Road led to the arrest of a 56-year-old man accused of driving with a license suspended for DUI. He was also released with a promise to appear.

One theft was reported during the week. Officers responded to a petty theft at a Clayton Road business on November 16 around 2:30 p.m. No vandalism incidents were reported.

The rules are pretty simple: If you drink, don’t drive and if you drive, don’t drink.
