Happy Thanksgiving, and welcome to the Christmas holiday season.
Mr. Christmas, who passed away in October of 2017 at the age of 87, would light up his house on Olive Dr. in Concord every Thanksgiving at 7 p.m. for 36-years to kick off the holiday season.
It’s 7 p.m., so in an effort to keep his tradition alive, click ‘play’ on the video above and enjoy his show.
NOTE: His former house on Olive Drive now has different owners. This is an old video of a lighting from a few years ago.

What a great guy – We used to take my frail mother-in-law by the house every Christmas season – the lights gave her – and us – a lot of joy, as did Mr. Christmas, who would come by the cars, greeting folks. Sorry, if I’m a little maudlin, but I when I think of Mr. Christmas I always remember this from the beginning of the great book by James Agee and Walker Evans, Let Us Now Praise Famous Men:
“…..their bodies are buried in peace, but their name liveth for ever more.” – adapted from Ecclesiasticus 44
