Four people were killed and 10 were wounded in a shooting during a children’s birthday party Saturday night at a banquet hall in Stockton, officials said. The victims ranged in age from adults to youths in what appeared to be a “targeted shooting,” San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Heather Brendt said. No suspect has been arrested, Brendt said. The shooting was reported shortly before 6 p.m. near the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue in the Sherwoods Manor neighborhood.
Stockton’s Vice Mayor, Jason Lee, said he was “devastated and angry to learn about the mass shooting at a child’s birthday party.” “Violence touched my life as a young person, and seeing our own children, parents, and neighbors go through this shakes me deeply,” Lee said on social media. “Our community deserves to know the truth, and the families impacted deserve justice and every resource available to support them,” Lee said. Anyone with information, video footage, or who may have witnessed any part of the incident is asked to contact the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
“Community assistance is vital in helping us identify those responsible and bring justice to the victims and their loved ones,” the Sheriff’s Office said. Gov. Gavin Newsom’s press office said he had been briefed on the “horrific shooting” in Stockton. It said the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services was monitoring the situation and coordinating with local law enforcement.

What’s wrong with people?…they lost their way…because as far as i can tell, we are a reactionary society…not a cohesive whole so as to investigate what’s behind society’s failures, and seem to only treat and react to the symptom’s. Yup. They can actually, legally, flat out deny protection, even if you go to them. Read about the case the Supreme Court used to come to this conclusion. Sad, cruel, lazy, everything you thought law enforcement would do for you if you were in need? All will be changed. California needs to declare war on gangs, use existing gang enhancements
and use of a gun in commission of a crime the crime. While legislature passes

Unfortunately, Sacramento is too busy fighting their “War on Cars,” that they don’t have the will, desire, nor do they care to fight a “War on Crime” or a “War on Gangs.” Laws are only good for those who follow the law and those who fear the law, but they mean nothing to those who don’t give a damn about the law.
Glad they are finally reporting gang shootings as mass shootings. It is ABOUT TIME.

Why? Nothing in the article said that this was a gang shooting, only that “it appeared to be a “targeted shooting.” If they don’t yet have the evidence that this was a “gang shooting,” then it’s going to be called a “mass shooting,” even though the term “mass shooting” has no set definition, it’s an arbitrary number, but is usually defined as 3 or more or 4 or more casualties, yet, it’s not a set definition that anyone operating as the free press is required to use. Why do you believe it’s better to count “gang shootings” and “mass shootings” together, rather than separate? Why do you believe it’s better to use the term “mass shooting,” which has no set definition, it’s a term with a subjective definition open to interpretation by the reader, listener, and/or viewer? At least the term “gang shooting” tells one that the shooter(s) is affiliated with a gang.
Are you kidding? They historically try their hardest to NOT count gang shootings as mass shootings. This would also mean that black people are the #1 perpetrators of MASS shootings and not white, like they like to believe. So, yeah. I want them to count things appropriately.
Anyway, it IS a gang shooting at least one of the rappers is in a gang and mayor Fugazi Stockton said it’s a gang related shooting and now she says she needs the Feds to help her because Stockton has gangs “We’ve got approximately 5,000 gang members and 100 gangs in the city of Stockton” she said.
