Xmas joke

Frosty the Snowman walked into the North Pole Clinic looking worried.

The doctor said, “What’s wrong, Frosty?”
Frosty sighed: “Every time I look at Christmas lights, I start to meltdown.”

The doctor nodded and said:
“Don’t worry Frosty… it’s just a warm feeling inside!”

After dropping my new girlfriend home the other night after our first date, she told me I’d have to wait 3 months before she would have sex with me. I told her I totally understood and respected her decision and that I’d ring her again nearer that time.

‘… M7.9 surface rupture filmed near Thazi, Myanmar’
https://tinyurl.com/3eesee8d
.
At 13 seconds left side of vertical entrance columns can see dust as ground
rupture as it travels out and hits building in distance.
At 14 seconds can see land shift off right vertical column and high voltage
transmission towers in top right of screen topple.

I had to rerun it several times to see all the damage it caused. The way part of the roof
collapsed on the building in the background and the power pole toppled over was
impressive. Meanwhile, the potted plant in the foreground barely shook.

Wow! Also the major shift to the ground and watching the pavement split just past the gate.
That was crazy!!

Model of how earthquakes happen, “release” of energy.

I just watched it about 20 times to see how many details I could find.
That was awesome.

Original G,
.
It appears to be a water tower collapsing on the left side at 13 seconds.

Really good catch, totally missed and watched many times.

I’ve seen your fliers on telephone poles in my neighbourhood.
I hope you find your beautiful Bella.

Cowellian’s First.
Friday seems to have caught me by surprise again!

When I was working, waiting for Friday seemed to take forever. Now that I’m retired, I’m
no sooner getting over the weekend, and Friday is here again.

Tell me Netflix is over-charging its customers without using those words.
“Netflix has agreed to buy Warner Bros’ film and streaming businesses for $72 billion,”

I dropped Netflix when they added their 4K tax years ago. Because of the advanced compression used on 4K it doesn’t require as much relative bandwidth as HD. I also found they were beginning to target an audience below my tastes. I have a worse problem with cheapskate Comcast and Peacock. I don’t watch sports at all or reality shows so will have to drop them too because they are short on narrative content (thanks to the pandemic and the ill-timed writer’s strike which was mindless and put Hollywood as well as them out of business. Not wonder their shows are so lousy.)
.
Reluctantly I added the $3 fee Amazon charges to get rid of ads because I was getting tired of those.

Just added the $3 no ads Amazon Prime today. Our monthly Comcast bill is over $500 a month cuz we have everything available on it then today my wife’s like what’s another $3 we don’t care, not sure why I waited this long to do it.

I cut the cable a year ago when AT&T move the TV schedule from online to a phone app. I won’t give them the cell phone number. I already plenty of calls on my land line. Cable TV is over priced anyway.

Tell me you’re old without saying you’re old.

I miss Mayor Art.

If you don’t like Netflix or paying the high prices then don’t subscribe to it, it’s no brainer but some people are obviously clueless.

I quit them a few years ago.

question: do car dealers like Honda still negotiate when buying a new car? Used to be when I bought a car, you’d go in and argue a price. During chinese bat flu government imposed societal shutdown, there was no negotiations, paid sticker (we tried at many dealerships). Looking to buy one now, and I am not sure of the market anymore, is negotiation still a likelihood, or would it be spitting in the wind?

As a skilled negotiator, everything is negotiable. Car dealerships expect it, but they don’t expect it from every customer. I can see why negotiating was “on hold” during Covid. The best time to buy a car is December and January. End of year sales. They work on commission, and they need to move their inventory. Good luck!

Bought a 4 door truck and large SUV a month ago, they weren’t local but on a Ford lot in Fresno. I wanted them both so told my Ford salesman I’ve been using here locally for 20+ years bring em here and I’ll buy em both no negotiation as I didn’t care. Once they got here it was an hour time to do easy no financing BS paperwork. Decades ago wed spend 4 hours at dealer doing all the paperwork but fast nowadays. Cash is king don’t need no stinking negotiating.

Yes you can negotiate to a point – not like it used to be though

I don’t know if this still works but I learned this back in the 1970s. I went to a dealer and ordered a car a day or two before their next order would go into the manufacturer. They gave me a deal because that extra order would give them more cars to sell from then on from that company.

thanks everyone!
