Former Walnut Creek Mayor Cindy Darling passed the gavel to new Mayor Kevin Wilk at the Tuesday, December 2 City Council meeting. The City Council unanimously approved Wilk’s appointment; he will serve as Mayor through early December 2026. Councilmember Matt Francois will serve as the Mayor Pro Tem (fancy name for Vice Mayor). Wilk was elected to the City Council in November 2016. He previously served as Mayor in 2021.
