On December 16, a Union City woman was arraigned in Contra Costa Superior Court in Martinez on a five-count felony complaint that includes attempted murder, stalking, child abuse and making criminal threats.

Xiaojie Zhang, 40, pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of a minor in San Ramon. Authorities say the boy suffered a non-life-threatening injury after Zhang fired a handgun at him on or about November 23.

Zhang is also charged with stalking a separate, confidential victim and making criminal threats, allegedly occurring on the same date as the shooting.

The attempted murder, stalking and child abuse charges include enhancements for the intentional discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury, as well as the use of a firearm in the commission or attempted commission of a felony.

Zhang waived her right to a preliminary hearing within 10 days of being charged, and a hearing date has not yet been scheduled. She remains in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility with bail set at $1,675,000.

I think she was stalking the minor’s Dad and the kid confronted her.

She sounds like a catch.
