Have made a total transition to pay premium channels only no commercials and also Amazon Prime paid for none there either. So sick of stupid drug, insurance, Medicare and all the other BS commercials and never have to watch another one again. We don’t watch the news either this is the best Xmas ever! All the shows we love to watch are on Amazon Prime so big plus there. Yea so our Comcast Infinity and Amazon Prime subscriptions are $500+/month it’s totally worth it not that we budget anyway. Came down to shooting my 85″ TV if I saw 1 more garbage commercial.

I need the commercial breaks!
I don’t even call them commercials …. I call them viewer intermissions.
*
Dash out to the kitchen for a snack.
Quick stop at the water closet to take a squirt.
Grab some Charlie Bears for the dog.
Check the other game on a another channel.
Make sure the old lady is doing her housework.
Etc.

I love streaming!
Not only do I not have to endure all the stupid ads, but the pause button works whenever I need it to.

LOL! Those of us with “no ads” streaming use the “pause” button for that. 😎

Breaks are the pause button.

I don’t pay any attention to ads or commercials. I mentally block them out the same way I block out anything unwanted. It’s a learned behavior and a valuable skill. It takes patience, but it can be done. Cheers!

Ads are for the mute button. Then you all see a bunch of silly people smiling giddy over some worthless product.

We take care of the problem by using the DVR and watching virtually nothing live. We also have a remote with a 30 second fast forward button. If you don’t care about the commentary, you can watch a football game in much less time with the 30 second button. At the end of each play, hit the 30 second button and the next play starts a couple of second later, unless they are in “hurry-up” mode. There should be a special button to skip through the Kars for Kids commercial, the most obnoxious one on the TV and Radio. A couple of hits on the 30 second button works though. Before the DVR, I used to do the same thing via the VHS recorder.

It’s also never again watching edited shows/movies and bleeped out words etc. take Blazing Saddles, uncut is the only way!

Clayton 1 is right!

Now who can argue with that? I think we’re all indebted to Clayton1 for clearly stating what needed to be said. I’m particularly glad that these Claycordians were here today to read that speech.
Not only was it authentic Claycord gibberish, it expressed a courage little seen in this day and age.

I have DISH and it sounds the same. Two weeks ago, I watched an entire college football game just as you described. I wasn’t able to see it live, so I DVR’d it, stayed away from sports news, and watched it late that night. The second the play was over, I hit the fast-forward 30 seconds button, just in time for the next play. It was awesome, except for the final score. 🙂

I have Amazon Prime and all the Premium channels and I pay less than 125.00 a month. Get Roku and save some money.

To ponder: A properly shuffled deck of cards has never been in that order, ever, in the history of everything, and will never be repeated. This is nearly (since the number of possibilities is finite) guaranteed. The math is staggering.
If someone hid a grain of sand somewhere on some beach on earth, your chance of blindly picking it out are MUCH better than repeating the order of a shuffled deck. It’s not even close.
I love math.

Two things happened during SF power outage,
Waymo driver-less vehicles apparently have nervous
breakdowns when there’s no traffic signals.

.
Nine months from tonight a surge in births.
I mean, what else was there to do ? ? ? ?

You mean Google didn’t test those in power outage situations? BTW, they beta tested them here in Martinez. I guess because Contra Costa is friendly to EV cars. Remember “Who Killed the Electric Car” movie? 😁

If SF is an indication of how driver less vehicles behave in a power
failure, clogging up streets with hazard flashers on . . . . . . . . .
Earthquake plus power failure . . . . .
.
First responder vehicles will be impeded, NOT GOOD !

Da street lights goin’ out caused waymo traffic jams.

When the traffic lights are out, human drivers blow through the intersection without even looking, and driverless cars stop and wait for a light that never comes. It sounds like a match custom-designed for either Hades or San Francisco.
