VIDEO: Goodbye Old Building That Once Housed The Country’s Best Yogurt (TCBY)

We told you it was going to happen, and it’s happening. The buildings at the corner of Clayton Road and Bailey Road in Concord are being demolished to make way for a new Starbucks. The location sits directly across the street from a Dutch Bros. and within walking distance of five other Starbucks locations. The video gets good at about the 15 second mark.

QUESTION: Who remembers when TCBY (The Country’s Best Yogurt) was in the building that’s being demolished?

I never knew what TCBY stood for!
Maybe they would have done better using the full name!

The name wasn’t the problem.

The Country’s Best Yogurt

.. .. …PS. I do t know how Starbucks could have so many locations in the same area? I’ve stopped going to them. frankly, their coffee is not that great and my Keurig machine at home does a much better job for 1/5 the price!

The location at the corner of Clayton Road and Treat Boulevard was a horrible location because Starbucks wasn’t willing to pay the neighboring shopping center owner enough money to allow the drive-thru line to extend into their property. The public warned the Concord City Council that this location would be a traffic nightmare, as a result Starbucks no longer has full use of that entire property.

I’d say that Starbucks isn’t really in the coffee business as much as they’re in the flavored drink business.

Well if it was supposedly the country’s best yogurt how did it end up going down the tube and then the building torn down apparently it wasn’t that good.

Changing tastes of consumers, being bought out, and management taking the brand in a new direction is what caused the brand to suffer and downsize.

I thought the economy was run on supply and demand…why another coffee shop?….who’s making these decisions? I don’t get it …can someone explain this to me

right? i was thinking the same thing. there is a starbucks right down the street

Great video – would love to see more video content on claycord
