A wave of at least nine earthquakes ranging up to a preliminary magnitude of 4.0 struck southeast of San Ramon about 8 p.m. Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Revised data showed the 4.0-magnitude temblor struck at 7:56 p.m., three miles southeast of the city, at a depth of 6.2 miles.
A quake of 3.8 magnitude occurred at 7:49 p.m., two miles southeast of San Ramon, the USGS said.

Other earthquakes in the same area were measured at 2.5 at 7:41 p.m., 2.9 at 7:49 p.m., 3.1 at 7:57 p.m., 2.2 at 7:58 p.m., 2.1 at 8:06 p.m., 2.9 at 8:10 p.m., and 2.3 at 8:15 p.m.

The quakes were measured at depths of between 2.9 and 5.8 kilometers. The closer to the surface an earthquake occurs, the more ground shaking and potential damage it will cause.

According to the Geological Survey, people typically report feeling earthquakes larger than about magnitude 2.5.

I felt one in that area a few days ago but none of these last night.

Just relieving pressure a little bit at a time it means absolutely nothing about a large super quake coming this type of activity keeps the super quakes from coming on any fault line.

That’s not necessarily true. The recent seismic activity in the region may be precursors or may be nothing to be concerned about, but is out of the ordinary, which deserves some attention.

It doesn’t deserve any attention and the above is necessarily true. I suggest you read some books about earthquakes, geology and fault lines and how they work on releasing energy because you don’t have a clue.

Please share your background in seismology, geology, and/or fault lines.
From my knowledge, quakes can be indicators of more to come, or nothing at all, as previously stated.
My point was that there is more activity happening around here and it is worth noting.
The Hayward is due to pop off any time and there are a lot of us watching and interested in this topic.
So let’s all be friendly, shall we?
Please share links to any books or information that you believe would be useful to the community.

Really… just go to San Ramon, dig a hole 6 miles deep, then take a long rope & shimmy down there to see for yourselves which one of you was right.

“due to pop”? Yea ok keep reading, maybe it’s the chemtrails causing them!

Give it up, man…just posting my opinions on a local forum. No need to be rude.

I’m not being rude at all I’m just bringing it to people’s attention that are obviously clueless how it all works with earthquakes. I don’t like being rude uneducated people as they wouldn’t get it anyway

Yeah, there is some rudeness there. Nonetheless, if you have all of this knowledge, why not share it rather than berate others who are apparently “uneducated people as they wouldn’t get it anyway”?

Are there any old mining tunnels under San Ramon ? ? ?
Has anyone seen a blimp flying around that area ? ? ?
