Six People Displaced After House Fire Wednesday Morning In Walnut Creek

Six people were displaced after a house fire in Walnut Creek on Wednesday morning, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
Crews responded at 6:37 a.m. to a garage fire reported in the 2100 block of Stewart Avenue and arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from a home, fire district spokesperson Lauren Ono said. The fire was knocked down by shortly before 7 a.m. and the American Red Cross responded to assist the displaced residents, Ono said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
