REMINDER: DON’T ADVERTISE! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are enjoying all of those great gifts – BUT – we’d like to remind you that those who wish to burglarize your home, will be looking for those big ticket item boxes in your recycling before and after the holidays (i.e. flat screen TV boxes, game console boxes, jewelry boxes etc.). Please help reduce the chances of your home becoming a target by breaking down the boxes and hold off on putting them in your recycling bin right away!
Way back when Dinosaurs roamed the Earth (1970’s) in Oakland my Dad (ACSO) always took the boxes to the local mall (Eastmont) to dispose for exactly this reason. They would rifle through your trash then break into your house to remove from your custody your new gifts.
I knew a guy that thought it was smart to post a sign that said, “This home is protected by
Smith and Wesson.”
A burglar broke in and stole his gun.
I just busted my britches with laughter with that story!
