…. unfortunately not much …. 2026 has got to be better – prayers made / fingers crossed

Trivia: Did you know that 2025 is the product of a number multiplied by itself?
45X45=2025. The last time this happened was in 1936, 44X44=1936.
Several good things happened this year. One thing was finding an extremely rare and hard
to find a part I needed for an old car I’ve been working on. I like old cars that were made
before 1972, and I enjoy working on them to make them faster and to look and perform
better than when they were new. The biggest problem is the older they get, the harder it
is to find certain parts. Ten years ago, finding parts wasn’t nearly as difficult as it is now, so finding the part I needed was a milestone.

Wow Dawg! Same thing with me ! My part was actually an aftermarket item (window louvers for a 1969 AMC Muscle Car….the hell of it is nobody in the USA makes ’em any more and I had to buy it from a guy in Canada who is making them and I have to pay the tariff too! However, I have been looking for this for 10 years so I’m just happy to get them, despite paying $$$.

AMX or Hurst?

AMX

The 69 AMX I had didn’t come with louvers. I had 2 Boss 302s one had louvers and one did not and one had a flat hood and one had a shaker interesting how various options available.

Curious what year/make /model are you putting together with the found rare part? I’m into rare Pontiac RA 4/HO-455s/SD-455s.

I’m working on another ’72 Corvette. A couple of years ago, I completed a
’72 Corvette and gave it to my granddaughter as a graduation gift. I won’t go
into a lot of details about all the work and modifications, but she did the 1/4
mile in 12.2 seconds at 118 MPH.
The ’72 is my favorite year for Vettes, they are super easy to work on and fun
to drive. I’m thinking about keeping this one completely stock, as they are
worth more when all original with matching numbers. I’m now in the market
for an all original stock ’40 Ford coupe. I want to restore it to its original beauty, complete with the 85 HP flathead V8, and drive it around on the weekends.

A ’40 original and stock may be hard to find at any “reasonable” price… speaking of hard parts to find – I needed a one year only – one engine only – smog thermactor pump and system for a ’67 Stang – – ran across a guy who sold me the complete package for $40 in a pillow case – didn’t think he knew what it was …. they can easily go for over $500 now, if you can even find one…. back then they were one of the first things taken off and tossed

Yep, an original and stock ’40 Ford is very hard to find. I’ve been looking for over a
year now, and every one I found so far has had some modifications done. Most of
them no longer have the original engine, and keeping the original engine is a vital
part of my search.
Through my search, I found that it’s easier to find a Model A that still has its original engine, and there’s still quite a few Model T’s that are all original too.

Uh nothing as usual. I dont expect 2026 to be any different.

Our office was allowed to work remotely for another year despite pushback from mgt. and received a nice pay increase thanks to our place of employment which increased our customer’s rates.
