The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office has filed two counts of murder against a Concord man accused of killing his parents in a shooting on Wenesday. Prosecutors charged 61-year-old Kirk Richardson with two counts of murder under Penal Code 187, with enhancements for the use of a firearm.
The shooting occurred on on Walnut Avenue around 7 a.m. Police responded to the residence and launched a homicide investigation after they heard shots, and found two people dead inside. Richardson was arrested at the scene of the crime. Bail has been set at $4 million. The case will move forward in Contra Costa County Superior Court as the investigation and prosecution continue.
