On January 5, 2026, Antioch police officers responded to reports of gunfire in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 3915 Delta Fair Boulevard. While en route, officers learned that an 11-year-old girl had been struck by a gunshot while seated inside a vehicle in the parking lot.
Following the shooting, the vehicle left the apartment complex and drove to a nearby shopping center. Multiple callers reported the vehicle’s location, allowing officers to respond directly to the shopping center, where they located the girl inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head. Officers immediately rendered first aid until Contra Costa County Fire Department personnel arrived.
The girl was transported to Children’s Hospital Oakland, where she is listed in stable condition.
A preliminary investigation indicates the shooting occurred as the family was exiting the apartment complex parking lot, with the victim seated in the passenger seat of the vehicle. At this time, investigators do not believe the family was the intended target.

I work near antioch so many questionable people here really dont feel safe in the bay area anymore.

I think I will blame the corrupt individuals that were employed and the idiots that voted them in. Just drive around Antioch it looks like a third world dump… street vendors on every corner, homeless walking out in the middle of the street shouting at drivers, empty buildings and crime running rampant. It did not look like this 2 decades ago and this is all on the elected leaders and those that put them in office.
