What’s the deal with Irish Spring bar soap, and Kraft macaroni and cheese?? I bought both recently after a decade or so, and they are complete crap!! Why do companies make changes to near perfect things? I’m very upset and I don’t think I’m going to sleep well. I just hope the whole weekend isn’t wrecked.
I don’t know why you would mix Irish Sprint soap with Kraft macaroni and cheese but I’m sure it would taste dreadful.
It’s not spring yet. Try the Juniper Sage and Soaps, for bathing only. Or the Juniper Ridge Company makes normal products. Mac and cheese you are on your own there.
I don’t like Mac & Cheese very much but there are members of my household who so I prepare it for them on request.
To make “Kraft Dinner” palatable just follow the instructions on the box and then add at least a half cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese, mix and melt it thoroughly.
That will make it much better.
You can add other ingredients too if you like, such as crumbled bacon or diced green chiles or diced sausage or salmon or ???
As far as “package” mac and cheese, try the Cheetos packages. Those are very rich in flavor and came in third in reviews far ahead of Kraft. Even the little snack cup is rich and flavorful. But also just making mac and cheese from scratch isn’t that difficult especially the sauce. One can do without the chemicals company’s food technicians add.
And don’t forget Lobster Mac!
I totally agree with you regarding the Kraft mac and cheese. I stopped buying it because it taste nothing like it used to. So disappointed.
Tweaking products and reducing number of products in a package
to maintain profits for shareholders. It works until it doesn’t, when
consumers seek replacement products.
.
Reminds me of transit companies, adjusting number of buses
per route, increasing customer wait times. After 10 or
12 months management is baffled by a drop in ridership.
.
Inconvenience consumers, not a good idea, they decide who
gets their money.
If I’m not making my own Mac & Cheese from scratch, I’ll opt out for Trader Joe’s Mac & Cheese in the frozen section. Think there are 2 or 3 kinds, but I get the original. Believe it’s microwaveable too, but I bake it in the oven. FYI, bake it for longer per oven.
Kraft Mac and Cheese changed their recipe to a healthier option.
Cowellian’s First
This week we had our first snow flurries of the year. We had no accumulation, but it reminded me that my favorite snow was the snow atop Mt Diablo that I could see from my driveway in Cowell.
Its January but it feels like spring time now. Guess itll be an early spring this year, will be exciting to see punxatawny phil if he sees his shadow or not. Adorable little guy.
Hey Claycord community,
I am helping out a senior in the community and I am having a hard time getting the information I need. I was wondering what the least expensive landfill/ dump is nearby/ in CCC? I have been trying to look online to get an idea and I am just not having any luck.I was looking for costs on a pickup load of general trash and yard waste. Any info you can offer would be greatly appreciated. TIA
TIA yard waste strictly was always free or very low fees in a normal vehicle capable of handling and hauling. Most important is covering and securing the load. The location is Pittsburg. General trash can be pricey and has to be screened first. It’s the same location too. Best to call first for hours and requirements.
Joke
I was at the airport recently and my friend suggested we disguise ourselves as luggage.
I said, “Let’s not get carried away.
It’s been several weeks now since our representatives decided to cut off all public access to local police broadcasts. The flimsy excuse was that Sacramento had decided that broadcasting names of wrongdoers over the air was an invasion of their privacy. As I recall, a law was passed mentioning such concerns. Concord, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, and Martinez blocked their pubic broadcasts within hours. A seemingly majority of other agencies throughout the state have not shut down their public broadcasts. So why does Concord need to shut down its broadcasts, while places like Oakland and Berkeley do not? Is it by the prerogative of the City Council or the Police Chiefs? Personally, I am adamantly opposed to the lack of public information released by the Concord Police Department. Nearby cities use alerts to keep the public informed; Concord is more like the Secret Police; no news of any kind is released. If there is a State Law that requires the Police, Sheriff, and CHP to stop broadcasting to the public, then all of them should stop, and vice versa. Some police have said they prefer not to broadcast their dispatch communications because criminals will monitor the frequencies to avoid them. I believe that is true, but a special frequency can be used for such communications. I sincerely believe that the public has the right to know what is going on with the police, just as we all know what’s going on with the fire department, City Services, Dog Catchers, and all other public-funded services in our communities that use the airwaves. They are all regulated by the FCC and should all be available to the public. I urge the City of Concord City Council to reinstate the public access to the Concord Police Department dispatch frequencies. Only a government that fears the public keeps its operations private.

Tennessee has declared January 19th to be “Dolly Parton Day”
Governor Bill Lee signed a proclamation designating her birthday, Jan. 19, 2026, as Dolly Parton Day !
Personally…. as a big fan of Dolly, I believe Gov. Lee should have doubled down and made Dolly Day a 2 day holiday!
